The Master's touch

In the beginning of the Online Ministry the Lord gave me I met a young man from North Carolina named Steve Johnson. This was around August of 2003. We were going through similar circumstances and we developed an awesome friendship. He later met his wife after a bitter divorce that left him traumatized. We never met face to face but whether you make friends online, by mail or by phone, the feelings are just as real as when you meet in person. Steve was on dialysis and went through a lot of pain but he was always cheerful and I called him my hero. To me he embodied how a Christian should be when he is going through a difficult trial. His wife Sharon would tell me of prophetic dreams she was having and I asked her why her husband Steve wasn't in any of them. I told her Steve would be going home. Some would question the logic of all this but it was necessary for Sharon to be prepared spiritually. More than a year later Steve died in August of 2006, 8 months after a kidney transplant. I spoke many things in prophecy to him that came to pass. In April of 2006 I told him that he was going to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost on June 3rd of the same year. June 4th he called me and asked me to guess what had happened to him. I already knew. Months earlier in December of 2005 Steve finally got a kidney transplant. Late December of 2005 after his transplant surgery he had to be rushed to the hospital. He had complications from the surgery and I called him at the hospital. It didn't look good for Steve, but I told him that Jesus was going to pay him a visit and was going to touch him. Steve went home 2 days later and he called me and told me that Jesus had stopped by and touched him and he immediately got up and made an amazing recovery. Then I told Steve this story: There was once a very wealthy man named Reginald that had a large estate and many valuable possessions. He had a caretaker that lived on the property that was more than just an employee. He was a dear friend. His name was Luigi, an Italian man from the old country. Luigi managed the property and maintained the beautiful gardens that surrounded the mansion. Luigi had a Stradivarius violin that was passed on to him by his father and was in the family for generations. Luigi was a master with the violin and "Reggie" often asked Luigi to play for him. The beautiful melodies would resound throughout the mansion and when Luigi finished he would bow like a maestro, and Reginald would clap and cheer. Reginald had made a clause in his will for the sake of Luigi his dear friend. One day Luigi received word of a death in the family and asked for a leave of absence to which Reginald reluctantly agreed to. While Luigi was away "Reggie" passed away. The wealthy man's family was anxious to divide his treasures among themselves. Someone found an old dusty violin case and included it in the coming auction. The day of the auction finally arrived and the auctioneer was eager to begin. There were stunning works of art by Rembrandt and Goya and Michelangelo. Treasures from all over the world. The first item up for bid though would be the dusty old violin case. Inside was the priceless Stadivarius that belonged to Luigi, but no one cared to look inside because of the worn condition of the case. There couldn't possibly be anything of any value inside that dusty old case. As the auctioneer described the violin case the people that were present chuckled and laughed that such a worthless piece of junk could have any value whatsoever. One man offered one dollar for the violin which produced bursts of laughter. Then one man bid $100.00 which was all that he had left. The auctioneer anxious to continue the auction sold the violin case for $100.00. As the man walked up to claim the violin case he made a request. He asked if he could play the violin one last time. It was Luigi, and the request was granted. Luigi pulled the violin out and tuned it and when he placed the bow on the strings, to the amazement of all that were present, the most beautiful sounds anyone had ever heard resonated throughout the mansion. The sounds were so exquisitely wonderful, and played with such perfection that the people wept. When Luigi finished playing there was a silence so thick it could be cut with a knife. Luigi put the violin and the bow back in its case and began to speak in a thick Italian accent. Men and women that are assembled here. You apparently despised something because of how it apeared on the outside, but never considered that inside was a valuable treasure. You never thought that what appeared to be worthless could produce such beautiful music. All it required was the master's touch. Luigi looked around at the familiar surroundings and began to walk away. Then a messenger came to the auctioneer with a note. I'm sorry ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform you that the auction is now closed. There was a clause in the will stating that whoever bought the violin would own everything. Everything the wealthy man owned now belonged to Luigi. The people present were shocked and Luigi shed tears as he thought about his dear friend. Once everyone was gone Luigi went up later to a balcony and took out the violin. As he faced heaven he played again for his dear friend. If you listen carefully you can hear the melody of an instrument that only requires the Master's touch.
Steve cried when I told him the story and I wept with him. Steve died in August of 2006 and I mourned for him. I often had to call to comfort his widow Sharon. Then I sent her the story of the Master's touch again. I introduced her to an online friend named Heather that has Spinabifuda. Heather is confined to a wheelchair and wears a breathing tube. I led Heather to Christ online and she told Sharon how she had a boyfriend that had the same condition as her. He had died earlier that year in January yet Heather was so peaceful about it. Sharon was so ashamed because she felt God had been unfair in taking Steve yet here was someone that will probably not find another opportunity to have a boyfriend again. Sharon remarried this year and although things are rough she manages to perservere Sometimes life seems so unfair. Sometimes we look at things and don't see their real potential or value. What most people reject and despise can be an instrument in the master's hands. All it requires is the Master's touch. Put yourself in the hands of the Master. Be an instrument of His perfect will and allow your words to be a melody that echoes the love of the Master. Let his touch make the difference in your life. |

Thank you Cheryl but for me it wasn't a loss. I gained a deeper understanding of God's will which has allowed me to continue to perservere. When I remember Steve I remember his smile and his laughter which was so contrary to his pain and suffering that when I go through trials I can also smile.

Jay, I worked in home health and hospice and saw alot of this happening.......you see the different ways that people react to whatever is wrong physically. We decided when we found out that we have ms ( it affects both of us, because we are one) that MS would live with us, we weren't living with it.....and we decided that we would use it....for good :)

Yes, we should never judge a book by it's cover or a person by what we perceive them to be. David was just a shepherd boy, but with God He was a giant killer and a King. Gideon was the least of his Father's house, but with God He was a mighty man of valor. God can do so much through any vessle that is yeilded to Him for His purposes. I think of the verse in II Timothy that says: "Therefore, if anyone would cleanse himself of the latter (sin or ignoble purposes) then he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful to the Master prepared for every good work." Indeed you and your friends were prepared by God for each other.
