  When GOd instructs us to teach our children to follow his word he asks us not to wast time in keepng his instruction to him you are familiar with spare the rod? here it is 
Pro 13:24  
He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.
with love we teach ad all will be blessed


 

6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
