Just got back from McDonalds. Every Thursday morning I meet with pastor friends at 7 AM. What could possibly make us get up that early and go to McDonalds? It is the encouragement and strength I receive from these guys. Howard is the pastor at Covington Bible Church Covington Bible Church Home Page and Dan is pastor at the Grace Brethren Church here in town. I have met these guys for over 20 years. Our friendship has grown into one of honesty and genuine concern. We share our dreams and heartaches I honestly don't think I would have made it here for 32 years without these guys. We have been together so long we now qualify for senior coffee discounts at Mickey D's. Howard just got back from a mission trip to Guam and Dan shared his experience from the Easter Sunrise service at Humpback Bridge, it was the coldest one that he can remember. There were two bus loads of kids eating this morning from St. Louis on their way to a band competition in VA Beach. The energy was high to say the least this morning. As I notice all the kids sitting in groups with their friends, I knew the journey was a lot better because they were making it with friends. I am glad that I have not had to make this journey alone. Thanks Dan and Howard for being my fellow travelers on this journey we call ministry. 4:9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up.
Dan is reading this book and he recommends it. Today I have a full staff meeting at 12:30, continuing to work on Sunday's message. Catch you later
