14:15 If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, 14:17`even' the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you. 14:18 I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. 14:19Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also. 14:20 In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 14:21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him. 14:22 Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 14:24He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me. 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, while `yet' abiding with you. 14:26 But the Comforter, `even' the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. Love
Real love brings security into our lives. For many of us, feelings of insecurity contribute to the power of our dependency. Believing that love can bring lasting security may be hard for those of us who have been abandoned. Maybe someone we loved betrayed our trust. Perhaps someone turned away from us when we betrayed theirs. It could be that someone we needed died, leaving us permanently.
Jesus promised, "No, I will not abandon you as orphans-I will come to you" (John 14:18). We may ask, How can I trust God's love when it feels like all I've ever known is love that disappoints? Here's the difference: Jesus is the only one who entered our life through the "one way" door of death. "God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins" (1 John 4:9-10). The Psalmist wrote, "For he understands how weak we are; he knows we are only dust....The wind blows, and we are gone...But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him" (Psalm 103:14-18).
God's love is unconditional and always waiting for us. Turning our life over to God involves opening the door of our heart to his love. Filling up on God's love helps us to avoid relapses. It meets us at our deepest need and overcomes our most powerful insecurities.

Amen, Perfect love casts out all fear!
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In verse 15 Jesus says 'if you love me, keep my commandments'!
That's how we show God we love Him... by keeping His commandments. The word 'keep' means to 'obey' and therefore if we obey Christ we show Him we love Him, then He and the Father will make their abode in us!
It's great to find the genuine way to show Jesus we love Him rather than just saying we do, we can actually show Him we mean business by doing what He commands.
Praise God! Thanks for the post. X |

| God says in his word that love is the fulfillment of the law. So many people nowadays argue about grace and the law. If we love the way God says we should love then we have fulfilled the requirement of the law. Amazing |

I'm with you Daz Roy...If we truly Love God we *will* keep His Commandments. Truly God *is* Love and even He/Jesus and all the disciples kept the Commandments to show their love to the Father. He/Jesus even told us that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill.
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
So yes, Love *is* the fulfillment of the law....and we show forth that *love* when we keep His Commandments and love one another. |

Cherly,
A power word you shared......and how true this is.When you said people that have been abandoned or someone we loved misused their love for us causes to many problems down the road but when you allow God's unconditional love to take control it doesn't matter when people leave you, or when they don't return love to you....oh yes it may hurt but you know who you belong to and HE get you through ........we have to do what the Father said to do and that is LOVE Thank you my sister...... |

Greetings to everyone. In the Scripture above: 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, Was Jesus referring to the Holy Spirit? In the following Scripture above: 14:26 But the Comforter, `even' the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you. It says "even", as in 'also' or 'together' - could it mean that God sent the Holy Spirit and another divine entity to guide us/help in our lives on earth (also know as the valley of darkness)? Do advice. Thanks. Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 |
