Greetings in Christ, I hope and pray each one of you have a great four of July weekend full of great memories with family and friends. I am writing this letter today to say thank you. Thank you for your faithful prayers for myself, my family and ministry over the years. As we celebrate the fourth of July let us not only celebrate the freedom that we experience as American citizens but moreover let us rejoice in the freedom we have in Christ to come directly to the Father through the person and work of Jesus. My prayer is that we would take some time this weekend to celebrate the One who gives us this freedom. I hope you take time to thank our Armed forces personnel, veterans, police, fireman, civil officials and politicians who serve us day in and day out. On this day above all let us remember that freedom isn’t free. Let us remember that freedom is paid with the blood of many troops who over the course of the history of this country have given up their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy. Let us remember that Jesus gave up the ultimate sacrifice so that we could have eternal life without which we would be destined to burn in hell forever. Jesus in John 8:36 said, “"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” He whom the Jesus has set free He will be free indeed. The child of God is freed through Christ to live a life that pleases God. If that doesn’t get you stirred up and excited nothing will. Are you free? The answer believer is yes! You are free to worship God because Christ’s blood has freed you from the chains of death and sin. Let us stand nigh upon our position in Christ as overcomers. On this day and everyday henceforth let us worship the Lord who was slain yet has risen indeed. As children of God let us lift up the name of the Lord for He has set us free. He has taken upon Himself the penalty of sin and transferred us from death to life. Let us celebrate today the freedom we have to worship the Lord in Spirit and truth. Let us celebrate and come to worship Him with joy and song. Psalm 20:5, “We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.” Psalm 33:1, “Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright.” Psalm 71:23, “My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.” Psalm 92:4, “For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.” In Christ Alone, Pastor Dave |
