6:2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 tells us to bear one another's burdens, whether that be a sin that they can't cope w/or just an issue, whatever the burden is we need for the person with the burden. Instead of tearing people down we should lift them up in prayer. I've got a friend who's going through something terrible, her sister is in ICU and has been for about a month, she's stable but she has a collapsed lung the other punctured, a broken femur, knee, shoulder, every bone on the left side of her face broken and brain damaged to an unknown extent. The family is going through a lot right now, and it's something that hurts them, or a burden, if you will. Sure there are other people going through stuff to either this magnitude, physically, and there are others going through something spiritual, either way we shouldn't tear them down. I don't know what it's like to have a sister, or someone as close as a sister/daughter in ICU, but just because I don't know what it's like doesn't mean I can't pray for that family, that God'll have His hand in that situation, I know that no matter what happens Casey (my friend) will still honor God, but I don't know her family that well. It may take this to get them to serve God.
Also with the spiritual burden, we don't have to know what it is, all we have to do is pray for them. We know when something is wrong with our brothers & sisters in Christ, there is just something different about their countenance. They're not as happy or joyful as they usually are, when you see your brother or sister under a heavy burden we shouldn't tear them down, I know I'm guilty of it, but it's the opposite of what the Bible says we're to do, we're too lift each other up, because we may be the only encouragement they have in this world but we constantly tear someone down then we're not accomplishing anything towards the glory of Christ in any situation. |
