OK...here is the deal.
Recently, the power went out at the house. So, being a good member of my community, I tried to call the local utility company and report the outage. It was the weekend, so I was sent to the After Hours and Emergency Service. Here is the message that I got:
"Hello, thank you for calling the (unnamed public utility)'s After Hours and Emergency Services Center. Our office is currently closed. Please leave a message and we will contact you as soon as possible."
Are you kidding me? The After Hours and Emergency Center was closed after hours and during an emergency. What's the point of having an "after hours" service that is closed after hours?
OK...there is my rant for the day.
