| She slipped her hand into mine |
|
| |
We sat in church today, my wife to my left, oldest daughter (12) to my right. As the music played and we worshiped, my daughter slipped her hand into mine, and gently rested her head against my shoulder. She is definitely a "snuggler", and I absolutely love her adoring attention.
Simply worshiping God is emotional enough for me, but when worshiping with my children, my mind is typically flooded with thoughts of the Lord our Daddy, receiving my adoring attention, in a slight role reversal, and the tears are as sweet as they are unstoppable. (They certainly were today.) The love of my children is pure, innocent, charming and delightful. Through Jesus, our Father can receive the same kind of love from us, his children!
My daughter will not always adore and admire her daddy quite the way she has up to now, and I savor every Sunday with her, almost as if each is the last. The beautiful thing is, we never have to stop showering our Daddy above with our adoring attention. Indeed, we will never grow out of this love for him. Never! What a magnificent hope!!! |

| I am so happy for you! I love moments like that! You are so right to that our Abba Father (Daddy God) loves our attention and admiration too! He loves to be praised just like we do cause we are made in His image and likeness! Enjoy every moment with your daughter! My oldest is almost 16 and she still sits on my lap and hugs me and loves on me so you still have a few years left! |

I say this only partly tongue in cheek but the goal is to set the bar so high for our girls that only her husband and our God can exceed our place in their hearts! I think you're on your way to doing that! |

Your daughter will always adore and admire her daddy as we love our Father in Heaven. No matter what it looks like she will always have a special place in her heart as I did for my Dad until he passed away and he still does have a place in my heart. God Bless You |

| That sure is a special memory that you will always hold with your daughter and I know that if I try to think of it, I can come up with a few, but I would rather not think about my father and having a father's love in heaven scares me as well. By the way she sure does sound like a little angel. |

| Beautful Mike...that's why I love my God so much....My earthly DADDY trained me up well in the ways of the Lord, and has demonstrated to me and my brother what a real Father is...a provider...a friend...a way maker....a teacher...an example of love....so even to this day...and I am 50 years old...I'm still my daddy's baby girl (smile)...Thanks for sharing your testimony ;o) |

This one brought tears :) I can tell you that your daughter will most likely remember this as well for the rest of her life. My first memories of church were sitting between my mom and dad and hearing my dad sing, he hated music, but always sang in church :) These are special memory making times for you.....make alot of them, enjoy and treasure them in your heart. |

This is God's "divine imprint" of the family: Father, Son, Holy Spirit : Father, Mother, Child. What a glorious design!
You and I are on the same "wave length," Mike. I was meditating on this very thought over the weekend. If when our children lavish such love on us, and we are filled to such heights, how much more deos the Father hold dear and desire our adoration and love?
Mark 14:36 36 And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. NKJV Rom 8:15-17 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. NKJV Gal 4:6-7 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!" 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. NKJV Is there any more exciting thought for us than the sonship and inheritance we received through Christ Jesus, our Redeemer and King? What grace!!!

| God created us in His own image. Therefore He is our Father. When we 'snuggle' Him, He loves us more. Great point brother! |

| Parenting is such a wonderful blessing from the Lord. I have learned so much about how great His love is for me through my love for my children. I loved reading this blog, Mike. |

"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs" When things are "right" in that sanctuary, we receive divine confirmation that we are among FAMILY. Ain't that a beautiful thought?? |

| You touched my heart. I was in Atlanta with my grand-children this weekend and was able to hold my little Nate during service and I agree the love for our children and the "snuggles" in the Lord's House is beyond words. God is Good... All the time!!! |

Mike, Thanks for the blog....Pastor Dan WOW I aspire for that with my husband. Our girls have been challenging lately. It seems that each of them have been "listening to the devil" more than to Jesus' voice (through Mom & Dad). I am reflecting to day and "focusing" on training more fervantly. My girls are a gift from God and I love them fully....that is why I am taking the time to train and discipline them now. ~Robin |

| Robin, I commend your heart for your kids. It seems uncommon for parents to set aside the time to instruct, yet have the patience to do so lovingly and gently. I believe Pastor Dan's admonition is scripturally sound, in fact I'd agree that's the way it oughta be! |

Our most precious gift from our Father and the love that they give is so innocent and unconditional. My grandkids make me feel young, wanted, appreciated and loved. I pray that in my prayers and worship to my Father, he feels the same way.
Wonderful blog..... |

Thank you Deb! Children have added a whole new dimension to my spiritual life!
Ms Melanie, you've done it again....what a stellar observation- "to cherish a moment is to live in the moment and God loves that... because to Him you are seeing through His eyes..." Reminds me a little bit of eternity!
Mary, love your comment, and what your grandkids do to you... I mean for you! lol |
