It's good to see a study address this rather than our just guessing what works. I am not surprised at the importance of the pastor and his preaching. But I am surprised that the next thing in importance was pure bible teaching. That is great news! Another surprise was the small numbers relating to worship style. I would have expected that to be higher.

Thank you for sharing these insights with us.

I agree with you Janell not sure I would have guessed worship style would rate so low.  Who knew.  I guess it is important, but not the thing that keeps them coming back.

If I had to guess, I'd say worship style is more important to the previously churched than the formelry unchurched.  Afterall, what is their point of rerence if they haven't regularly attended church elsewhere?  Those of us who grew up with a certain style of worship are going to have been influenced by that.  So its not that worship style is not important, it just may be more important for certain new members than others.

I know a big part of what my friends liked about our church was how friendly the congregation was. And how accepting people were. How they were greeted with hugs
