| Trust Me! |

The word trust is a funny word. It is a word that is often used in relation to people's relationship with God, but seldom ever really walked out in it's purest form. What I mean by that, is that we often say that we trust God and then go out and do everything that we can to make sure that what we are supposed to be "trusting" God for actually comes to pass. I can profess all day long that I believe what God has said in His word, or spoken to me in my quiet time, however, when the rubber meets the road it is a whole lot different than really trusting Him when I have no evidence that what He said, is going to come to pass in my life.
The Word of God tells me in Proverbs 3:5, 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. That is often where I falter. My tendency is to lean on my own understanding, instead in trusting in God. Yeah, I know, it requires faith! However, often times that is easier said than done. Instead I decide to trust in what I can do and how I can get it done. Mistake! I hope that as I grow spiritually I get to the point where I can say to God, “If your Word says it, I will believe it; if your Word promises it, I will stand on it; and if your Word commands it, I will obey it.” Without any hint or desire to trust in my own understanding. The Holy Spirit is ministering to me that, trusting God means that I acknowledge that He is who He says He is, and if He is who He says He is, then He is to be believed—and obeyed.
When I'm in the midst of the fire, that is a hard concept to grasp! However, like Bishop TD Jakes says, "You will never know that you have faith, until you are in a good fight". Faith, trust, they go hand in hand and I am coming to the revelation that even when things are their toughest and the fire seems to be it's hottest, God is right there saying, "Trust Me".
Later,
