Don’t ask, and don’t tell 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 7:8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Dont ask don’t tell was adopted by the military a few years back, it was put in place so that People who lived a life style outside the norm would be protected from certain prejudices and injustices.
Before you read further let me say that you should read , with this question in mind “Why don’t I ask God when he tells me to?”
The question will show how the Christian community has adapted the slogan (don’t ask , don’t tell) into there lives , and are allowing the world system to dictate the Sprit of God, I am saying this “not out of anger” but to make us aware of the lack of trust we have in an all powerful God.
God is all powerful and will give us thing needed according to his will, but the truth is that he uses People as an agent of blessing us, so why is it that the Christian now feel guilty for asking? And why is it that the Christian community are so skeptical in giving? Could it be because of the “don’t ask don’t tell slogan?
Many of you already have the answer and are going to say “YOU Can’t trust everybody!” this is a true statement, But can you trust the Spirit of the Living God? Many of us don’t because we are trusting in the worlds system and not Gods system. Maybe that’s why we feel guilty for asking , for fear somebody might tell that your undercover! Undercover from what? Maybe your an undercover Christian and are asking for something for your own selfish gain, and are fearful that the truth will come out and you will have to give an account of something that you don’t want to tell!
Or maybe you are just so worldly influenced that you miss your blessing all together!

My dearly beloved Keith:
In divine righteousness, God has made mankind (his eternal body) subject to this corrupt system of darkness (earth): all have been made servants unto tribute (Jeremiah 27): all pay homage unto the beast (Revelation 13). The creature does not direct the Creator; but the Creator does direct all things concerning the creature; and those who are inspired to rebel against the system rebel against themselves, and shall incur refining experience (wrath), unto their benefit. Remember, God formed (made) the crooked serpent (whorish spirit of mammon and vanity) for to teach you the knowledge you so sought of good and evil, and to refine you unto perfection. |

Evangelist,
I believe so many are afraid to really trust in him for fear of being hurt. Why, I do not know for he told us he would never leave nor forsake us.
However, I have come across some in my church whose first marriage failed. They are afraid to love because of it. Afraid that they will be hurt again and they often miss out on Godly men and women sent their way.
Likewise, so many have failed and been hurt, they believe by God. They have the look of Christians but no power thereof. They would rather act the part but please "don't ask them" to love him and trust him. |

Exactly! So much fear ... so little trust ... so much sadness. Perhaps this is the reason so many people are not planting in Churches -- perhaps they have been a part of a Church at one point in their lives and the experience turned out badly. They could have felt unaccepted, taken advantage of, did not get a real Spiritual/Scriptual teaching, felt the Church was more politically motivated than Spritually oriented ... the list goes on and on. One bad experience in a Church can turn a "fence-sitting Christian" off for life.
That is why witnessing and outreach is absolutely critical! As Christians we are constantly being watched by those around us (whether we realize it or not) and are living, breathing extensions of Christ on Earth. If we are to lead the lost to Christ we must walk the path He has set out for us. We can't go out to the bar, drinking and dancing 6 nights a week then show up in Church on Sunday expecting people to view us as an A-1 example of a Christian! That's a little contradictory. Go to a bar and try to save someone from a life of alcoholism!
Being planted in a Church is so important because fellowshipping with other Christians provides a means of support and encouragement for each other, a way to worship and praise God together, pray together, listen to other's testimonies and experiences. It feeds your soul and strengthens your faith, keeping you accountable for your life and less likely to go astray.
Finally, I have found that tithing is also important in the life of a true Christian. I never really understood why until I joined my current Church. Now that I am finally learning the Bible, I understand that as God blesses us we should happily give back to God in our deeds as well as monetary support of the Church and Missions. Even when you feel you don't have but pennies to give, as long as you give faithfully and happily He will bless you. Since I have become a faithful tither, our financial situation at home (although still tight) has taken a dramatic turn for the best! It truly does make a difference!
I'll step down off of my soapbox now. Hopefully these words will serve to inspire someone today.
Peace and Blessings,
Deb (aka, Clearwater) |
