| REAL DEAL - REAL FRUIT |
|
| |
Did you ever see one of those fake apples people put in their coffee table fruit bowls? Could be plastic or painted wood, whatever?
They look real to the natural eye, but try biting into one! Sometimes we act just like that fake apple or orange… we sit there looking just right, we talk just right… but we just don’t act right!! Loving, caring, joyful, giving, patient, understanding, sweet, sharing are all evidence of the Spirit… real spiritual fruit. Painted plastic or wood looks good in the fruit bowl, but it is not the real thing. Here at MyChurch and there in our homes, community, workplace or church… are we sitting in a fruit bowl trying to look the part of an apple or orange? We may not be perfect but we are not fake either because we’ve been bought with a price, taking on the TRUE charisteristics of Jesus. We have been given the free opportunity and destiny to be the real deal.
I'm checking my life, my heart, my motives today and I'm going to act more like the real deal and make a conscious effort to display the fruit of the Spirit more often.
The next time someone bites into me, what am I gonna do... display His true fruit, that's my decision. P.S. Did you know that apples are NOT for fruit bowls anyway? ;-) Sure do love you... "Fruit of the Spirit" is a Scriptural term that sums up the nine visible attributes of a true Christian life. Galatians 5:22-23, these attributes are: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. These are not individual "fruits" from which we pick and choose. Rather, the fruit of the Spirit is one ninefold "fruit" that characterizes all who truly walk in the Holy Spirit. Collectively, these are the fruits that all Christians should be producing in their new lives with Jesus Christ. |

I remember a time in my life when I was eating scriptures all the time on temperance. LOL! Stating out loud, "I am patient and slow to anger.". If we hunger for spiritual fruit, HE will fill us with them. Yea, even so, we are already filled with them. Sometimes we have to tend to the fruit, keeping it activated and undefiled. Sometimes we need outsiders to bring things to our attention, as you did with the Humility blog for me yesterday. :) Which I love you for that. You knew that was just for me...right? LOL! Thanks for getting in to the blogging groove! It is great to hear from you! |

| You all are too cute for words... I love the hand clapping, is that a standing ovation for the FRUIT? |
|
|
| Melandrie!!! Amen, amen, amen! I wish everyone was a true fruit instead of a bunch of fruitcakes. I will be flying to San Diego today, wish I could see you guys. Love, DR |

I was burdened for your tough day, Sunshine... and as I sat here at my desk and was staring at the framed print of Humility... thought of you. Yes, thought it was for you yesterday, but it's for me everyday. Someone was helping me unpack a couple of months ago and we were hanging pictures on the walls. She put Humility down and out of sight (because of its age it was not as 'beautiful' as the rest of the things getting hung). But I brought it back out and said sweetly, "Excuse me... but this one (Humility) goes in the place of prominence, place of importance, so everyone can see it." Love you... |

| Melanie, a tree is known by it's fruit. A good tree produces good fruit a bad tree bad fruit. What you are is evident to eveyone through your words and actions. As you said God is much more concerned with us being the part than looking the part. It is good to see you writing again! 2 in 2 days! I speak restoration wholeness and healing to you in Jesus name! |

| You know what? Real fruit doesn't have to try to be a fruit. It is what it is. Artificial fruit however has to resemble the real thing, but looks too perfect sometimes. A person without discernement will try to bite a fake apple. The same way that a Christian without discernment can fall in with the wrong crowd. I pray for Spiritual discernment for the body of Christ. Come quickly Lord Jesus. |

| Dee Dee, Rob, Brother Todd and Prophet J... thanks so much for your agreement, discernment and wisdom; you all have displayed it by acknowledging the fruit reminder for our lives and how urgent it is for us to walk in the Spirit and also discern the Spirit. Excellence is what we strive for, not perfection. Amen Prophet J? Giving honor to Him... love you all. |
