It comes down to priorities doesn't. We tend to put such high priorities upon the superficial things, the outward things, the things everyone sees. Yet, God places priority upon the unseen things. These things are not things you can see when you meet someone on the street but you can definitely see them as you get to know the person. If someone fears the Lord it is most evident in their lifestyle and their choices. Real beauty has nothing to do with hair color or length, nor does it have to do with body type or shape. Real beauty comes from within and it begins with the fear of the Almighty. Another word for it is wisdom and wisdom is a truly beautiful thing!
31:30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. |

I have a scripture at my desk at work that is an all time favorite that touches on this. It isn't beauty related but speaks to people flaunting their "riches, wisdom and strength" which are qualities that bring admiration from others. Trump has his enemies but many would kiss his feet because of his riches. Wrestlers or body builders command high priced tickets to demonstrate their strength with many fans and followers. The wise and some acclaimed to be are paid handsomely to lecture to people hoping to glean a bit of wisdom and instruction for themselves. If you aren't the wealthiest in material things, wiser than your fellow man or strong in body, you have something perhaps that is more pleasing. ( I put beauty in this category as well) The verse is found in Jeremiah 9:23, 24 "Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
