The word anointing in the New Testament means: To smear to rub or to apply

If Christ was "The Anointed One" and we are "of Christ" that means we are the anointed of Christ.

The point I am making here is that you Have had the Holy Spirit applied to your life and now you are indued with power for service for God and to witness for Him.
1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me Acts 1:8a YOU ARE THE ANOINTED OF GOD! THE ANOINTING IS NOT JUST FOR THE PREACHERS AND THE TEACHERS BUT EVERY FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST HAS BEEN GIVEN THE IMPARTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND IS EMPOWERED FOR SERVICE.
The Holy Spirit abides in you. He indwells your body. 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Therefore you are Idwelled by the Holy Spirit then you are anointed by the Holy Spirit to be a witness for Christ and to build up the body of Christ.
The anointing is not just for the Peachers, Evangelists, and Teachers but it is for each and every one of us who follow the Lord Jesus Christ. If He is "The Anointed One" and we are "of" Him then it can be concluded that we are the anointed of God.!
