Where there is no vision, the people perish.Proverbs 29:10. According to this text, spiritual blindness leads to destruction. God has called us to be people of vision, in fact the first thing God created was light. The very first word that come from his mouth are, "Let there be light." God never intended us to walk in darkness. Paul writes, "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you." Ephesians 1:18 The Word of God contained in the Scriptures is the source of vision and the source of faith. God's word illuminates. Light makes vision possible. "The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.""So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 Jesus Christ, the Divine Author of the Scriptures is also the Author and Finisher of our Faith. Hebrews 12:2 Vision is faith. Faith is the quality that enables us to see the unseen. Consider these verses from Hebrews chapter 11. Verse 1, Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Verse 13, All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
Verse 27, By faith he [Moses] left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. Faith is vision. Faith is seeing what we desire coming to pass in our hearts before we see it happen in the natural. It is seeing Him crucified, risen and so clearly that it is as though you actually had been an eyewitness of these events. It is seeing Jesus exalted at the Father's right hand knowing that he is interceding on our behalf. When you look into your future what do you see? Are you like Joseph who saw his brothers bowing at his feet even while he was a slave in a distant land? Do you see yourself walking in your anointing like David who saw himself as King of Israel even while he was hiding in the cave of Adulam? Are you like Jesus who for the Joy set before Him endured the cross. He could see through the pain right on to the glory. He could see you and I redeemed and standing before His throne clothed in His own rightouesness. Are you a person of vision? We do not walk by our physical sences. "For we walk by faith and not by sight." We are called to walk in the same anointing as our Messiah, "His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, And decide with equity for the meek of the earth.
