| Hungry To Live Right! |
|
| |
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6 "How happy are those who are hungry and thirsty for right living!" (Righteousness means right living.) Living right is not popular. Being popular is popular -- fitting in -- being cool.
People are hungry to be accepted; hungry to break the rules; hungry to make money; hungry to get high on chemicals; hungry to have fun; hungry for power; hungry for cheapo sex; hungry to impress others; hungry for hyped up media (sickovision); hungry for more stuff; hungry to talk on cell phones; hungry to look younger than they are. But is anyone hungry to live right?
I want to live right! I want my life to be as finely tuned as possible to the principles of morality, truth, and justice. I don't want to limp through life on one cylinder of my V-8 engine -- just getting by and stuffing my pain. I want to be all I can be -- as good as I can be.
Life is a challenge to live right and I want to rise to meet it. Living right is hard, very hard. But I am convinced that there is no more exciting and fulfilling way to live than by hungering and striving to live right. Why not try it and see for yourself? |

Consider being a Muslim. They have a monopoly on living right. Or maybe a new breed of a mix between Christian and Muslim. I have some Muslim friends. They eat, think, keep their eyes straight ahead toward morality. Most of them are good people compared to the christian disciplines. But they will NEVER descend into the created Hell of man's fear and save the unbeliever Like Jesus Christ does and will. They will give their lives for a believer, but can not comprehend a Love that will decend for an unbeliever. Jesus is our only example of this. They do not understand the Power of God's Love and His no failing Cross to save humanity. They only believe in an upward Journey to God. Thank God for Jesus who left his higher place and decended into man's worst thoughts and this Christ does not return void or empty handed.

| Kw: Thanks for the suggestion, but as for me and my house, I will keep on following and doing my best to obey Jesus Christ day by day and moment by moment. |

Rick: Thanks for the notice.
Ms. Suga: Heart to hear words are always powerful.
Patti: Obedience to God and passionate love for Him are indeed the best way to live.
Rochelle: Cricifying our flesh is painful, but it has awesome rewards, as does fear and trembling. God is awesome! |

Patti - It's easy for people to live without God. Look at Hollywood. Look at the mega-rich. Not a lot of Christians there. They 'look' like they're having a GREAT life. They probably think they are too. Being a Christian, for those people, would mean dropping the parties, the drinking, the drugs, etc. think that sounds "easier" to them. They've been deceived by the enemy to believe that the material things in this world are their reward, not eternal life. I'm not saying they CAN'T be Christians. I'm not saying that a Christian can't have nice things. But they're choosing this world over Christ - and they're enjoying it. Short term gain, long term loss. |

Yes, indeed. Righteousness or right living is the way God leads us, Paul.
GrowinginF... Even many of us Christians live our lives as if we are choosing this world over Christ. |

One of my favorite chorus' in the songbook:
I want to live right, that God may use me At any time and anywhere: I want to live right, that God may use me At any time and anywhere. |

21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, `son' of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 21:19 Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
