Carl, I can relate to what you have written... the first and only woman I have ever told "I love you" - in view of God's definition of love -  is my bride of 24 years. You have hit upon a truth that we all must share... we are not made to be alone nor are we made to give false praise... we are made in His image and our expressions of love must be as He has shown us. Thanks for the great blog!

I truly understand what you mean, I have been married to a wonderful God-Fearing man for two weeks, Yes two weeks (honeymoon period).  I had to learn to love myself first before i could love someone else.  But when i first met my husband, my prayer was and still is "God, help me to love him the way you would want me to love him, and not the way the World sees me to love him".  Our love is fickle, conditional.  God's love is so pure, mercy, graceful, and beatiful.

1 corn. 13: 4......I love that scripture and you are so right.  It is hard to follow everthing in that scripture but we are not perfect, so we do love and fall short of this wonderful scripture, I know I have and I thank God that His Love is perfect.  My favorite part of that scripture is "not keeping records of wrongs".
