| The Law of God - His Heart Revealed (Intro) |

Explore with me a NEW perspective on the Law of God. I began a blog about this almost a year ago. Somehow I never completed what I started. I’d like to share further insights now with my friends.
Has the law been done away with or are we still under the law? I would like to share a few thoughts on the law. First let me say that the law is good; it is holy and just - but most of all, the law reveals God's heart. The law defines and manifests His love, by revealing His heart and nature, exposing ours - providing a way in Christ to commune intimately with Him.
God is a jealous God. He loves His people and all people. His heart is that He would be our center, out from whom all things in our life flow. He also wants us to behave toward others with respect and consideration of each as a person created in His image. He wants us to respect another's possessions and relationships. If you look at the Ten Commandments, they can be summed up in "…Love God, and Love your neighbor," (which is everyone else). {Lk. 10:27} The first four “commandments” are toward God; the rest are toward others. God’s loving nature never changes I used to think that God changed the rules in the middle of the game. I used to think that the Jews had their relationship and religion with God, and then in the New Testament, God changed all that with a "new" religion and desire for ANOTHER group of people, non-Jews (Gentiles) and changed His plan and how He relates with His people.
Now I'm beginning to realize that's not the case; the law has never changed, because God's heart has never changed. His actions and methods may change (and usually do with each situation), but the nature of God never changes. He will always be the same (yesterday, today and forever): loving, merciful, forgiving, patient, gentle, good, etc. Yet He is also holy, faithful, righteous, just, perfect, sovereign, etc. That's why it is so important to develop a personal and intimate communion relationship with Him, in order that we can get beyond the "written law" and deeper into the heart of God.

Hey Charlie, I know Galatians (the first letter written by Paul), says that the law is a curse to everyone who does not depend on the Spirit to do the things in it; and that is what I think it is all about. Who do we look to? If the law causes us to say to God, "I cannot... but through Christ I can do all things," then to me it has done what it was suppose to do. |

| Thanks for the comment bro, good to hear from ya. You are stealing my "thunder." <grin> Part 1 (coming soon) will address what you mentioned. I just recently caught a glimpse of a new perspective on the law. In the past I have been a more ANTI-law "dispensationalists" type guy. |

| The moral law has never gone out of effect. Some would say argue to keep the sabbath day and they have very good points. But, the main point of all points is that the Law reflects who God is and who we are. God is Holy and I am not, I fall short, however, Christ fulfilled the law and therefore because I am in HIm I am no longer unto the task master of the law rather it has been my instructor to bring me to Christ. Oh how I need Him. In my flesh there dwells no good thing, but yet in me is Christ the hope of glory! |

Ya know bro Todd, I too have some consideration about keeping the sabbath. I'm glad you mentioned it. I just don't have the "light" to fully see God's heart on the sabbath for today yet .
I have no doubt now that His law reveals His heart and God's heart has never changed. Stay tuned in for the next episode :). |
