Letter 7-7

Ladies and gentlemen...
I bring before the table a new meaning for the term D-Day!
TODAY IS DELIVERANCE DAY!!
All those in favor....
All those opposed....

Term accepted! *

Father God we come before you - this is D-Day!!
You have prepared my heart.
You have prepared the heart of my Man.
You have prepared the heart of the judge and those that are needed in the court room.
We stand ready. Waiting for your Mighty Hand to move.
We praise you and thank you before hand.
In Jesus Name I pray

* now you all know we both are military people and no disrespect intended at all!
I just think every day between now and Christ's return needs to be Deliverence Day!
Don't you?

You guys do know that I skip all our mushy gushy love stuff, right? hehe

7-7     Today this kid came and asked me when Bible study was going to be. He said that my replacement told him to go find XXXX to ask but then all he wanted to do was work out. I waited for a bit and then ended up having it in my cell. I feel I have to hold these guys hands to keep things going. It is frustrating.

7-8     Yesterday, another kid came to me and asked if I was the Preacher. Then he told me that his Dad said "Hi".  He was one of my guys I called my Men of Faith. He wrote me once and was proud to tell me that he was still clean of drugs. His son said he is still clean. One of the true success stories of what God has done in here.

One of our guys rolled out this morning and another that had given his life to the Lord and had rolled out had rolled back in. He said that he went out and didn't last long and started back at crack again. He said his marriage was strong again but he just couldn't stay away from the cocaine. I told him that maybe God sent him back in for a "check up".

(newest cellie) went to court today. He thought he was going to get to go home but they pushed him back until the end of September. He said that the DA told him to **** off when he asked for a better deal. (remember he is not guilty and they know this from a lie detector test) There was a guy in court for attempted murder and they reduced it to disturbing the peace by fighting. He had stabbed a guy 18 times! They gave him 6 months and 2 years probation! There are so many more. Another guy charged with attempted murder who shot someone twice- the DA reduced it to aggravated battery and all they gave him was 5 years probation.

7-9     Another store day. Not many made store. It was different. I got my coffee so (cellies) and I stayed up late drinking coffee and talking. Normally, we will do that until 2 or 3 in the morning.

7-10     As you can tell, I'm running out of ink so I haven't been writing much. Sorry.

I have a lot of worries about some of these guys in here and how the studies will go when I leave. If I don't call Bible study or PC they just don't happen. The others will lead it but won't call it. It's like he really doesn't want to do it. And the two who lead each are kind of at odds with each other. All I can do is pray for them. I did PC last night. When I started giving the message more people started piling in the circle. We had a few hanging on the steps behind me. Everyone gets a chance to say what God is doing for them and any prayer request they may have.  We do this after we sing and I give a short message. You really hear the hearts of these men.

We finished reading Psalms again tonight and I ended it with a prayer.

Let's see... starting backwards, calling out Prayer Call involves yelling out "Prayer Call!!" to the guys. Hummm- not wanting to take full responsibility for it maybe. Scott told me when he called that this has passed. It has been fully taken over. lol

Running out of ink... you know these pens that they have available to them has half the ink a regular pen does. You can only add water to the ink so many times before it starts getting hard to read. This was the last of his paper, his last stamp, and I had a hard time reading it because of watered down ink.

Skipped the names of the men who were sentenced that day. Crazy stuff though.

Son of "drug free" man... wonder what he is in there for. And "check up"? LOL God always keeps us in check when He claims us- doesn't He??

I also found out that another guy who had his bail posted is still in there several weeks later. They "claim" that they are concerned that he will take off and have not released him.
Hummm.

Everybody knows that the judicial system has an odour about it. In other words, it STINKS! Those that are supposed to be locked up - through plea-bargaining to a lesser offence are being set free and spend less time in prison than they should do. Those that have done nothing wrong are being locked up, full-stop.

In the UK, anyone found carrying a knife can expect a prison sentence of 7 years. Those that use them, even more. But everyone knows it will not be the case, and that whatever sentence is dealt out, through good behaviour - will spend half that time in prison. For example. A person who commits murder and has a life-sentence passed on them in this country, unless otherwise stated, will not spend a lifetime in prison. So when people know that, it begs the question of who has the life-sentence imposed on them? I think you'll find out that its the victims who've lost loved ones, and not the one who's committed the crime. For saying that on both sides of the Atlantic - people are crying out for justice in one form or another, where is it?

Bubbles, Seems to me a different tone of a letter, from the others, Scott has wrote! "I feel I have to hold these guys hands to keep things going. It is frustrating." and "As you can tell, I'm running out of ink so I haven't been writing much." and "If I don't call Bible study or PC they just don't happen. The others will lead it but won't call it. It's like he really doesn't want to do it." and " This was the last of his paper, his last stamp" yep DELIVERANCE DAY!

~~satan~~ attacks in the form of insults, setbacks and temptations. But the shield of Faith protects us from ~~satan's~~ flaming arrows. With God's perspective, we can see beyond our circumstances and know that the ultimate victory is ours! Thank you Father God..we Praise and Glorify Your NAME!

Bub: I talked with my friend in New Orleans yesterday, she was angry for you...and angry for herself and her niece. Her niece was molested (she's 10) by a man married to her mother. Guess what, he's due out of jail in New Orleans parish any time now. They found out what he did to the little girl about 6 months ago :(
