I just feel truly blessed to be a part of the small group my husband and I joined. They are awesome. Every single one of them. I feel like they are my family. Whether we get together for bible study are just for social i come out feeling blessed. Today we spoke about Saul and Ananias. Our group leader asked if we ever had an Ananias (like a mentor or someone who god sent to us to deliver gods word) in our lives at one point. One of the couples mentioned that our small group in some ways has served as an Ananias for them. I kept quiet and wanted to really think about who I felt was my Ananias and automatically I would say that its the team of Pastors in my church. All of which I love. Everyone of my pastors. The Senior, Assistant and High School Pastors even their wives! At some point they all have truly served as mentors to me. But then when i got home I continued to meditate on that question and I realized that just like the couple mentioned - our small group also served as an Ananias for my husband and I both.
At our gatherings when we all share gods word and our different views and experiences about gods word it is so encouraging and so fulfilling the way we all can learn from each other. How we learn from those whose knowledge might be more extensive than our own and those who are just beginning their journey we join them in the excitement you feel when you're finally understanding the message god is delivering to you through his word.
Yes my small group is very special. We laugh, we love and we learn. Most of all we all love God. It's a beautfiul thing when you get together with friends and discuss a little something about the bible and you leave feeling like you just had some church!
If you are not a part of a small group pray that god lead you to one. God lead us to this one and its been a blessing from the very first day!
this all made sense in my head so i hope it makes sense when you read it!
Small groups truly are great. I think it is exactly what Jesus had in mind when He told us to have fellowship. :) I'm happy to hear that yours has been such a blessing for you and your husband.
