37:23 The L ord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. I am a firm believer in that "things happen for a reason." I may not know the reason immediately when things happen, but I know one day God will reveal that to me in His time. This week I made the coolest connection. I connected totally by accident someone from my High School class! I am also a firm believer in that "nothing happens by accident." This week I met Coreena on line.
She has a great health and fitness ministry here on MyChurch http://www.mychurch.org/free_indeed and posts her diet and exercise routine frequently. I have seen it, but I never checked out the profile. She is from my home town Manchester, NH. I came across a blog she wrote about the 80s Generation. Of course I am an expert on the 80's as I started my teens in 1980 and graduated college in 1989. I was heavily influenced by people like Ronald Regan, Larry Bird, and Sting! Coreena had posted a blog An 80s Generation Funny: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/217435/An-80s-generation-funny Immediately that blogged grabbed my attention as I could not resist making some comments. As we had talked along with others, Coreena began to drop clues as to where she was from. I could not resist and took a stab in the dark and revealed what school and what year I graduated. Low and behold, she was from the same school and the same class as I was! What are the chances of that happening? Unfortunately, we did not run in the same circles, but I knew the same people she knew and I felt some sadness that I had never made her acquaintance. However, at the same time I was so excited to connect with someone from my past! To meet a "Christian from my High School was a rarity. New Hampshire is definitely not the Bible Belt! She has written her own blog about our meeting: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/220681/NO-WAY (Check out our Year Book Pics) Though, I didn't really know her, I know that God brought her into my life for a reason. I don't know what that reason is, but I can't wait to find out! I feel that this is a "divine appointment" and am so looking forward to what God has in store for us. I can not help but think, Lord why now and why not then? And the answer comes to me "It's for the future and not the past." So, all I can say is the moral here is that God brings certain people into our lives at certain times and they are for a purpose. Now I reside in South Alabama and she still lives in Southern New Hampshire but our paths have crossed! I hope I will be a blessing and encouragement to her and she to me as we embark on the next 20 years! |
