In the latter part of 1999-2000 in Escondido, Calif. had a large fire that started a little southwest of my large 4 bedroom house. I worked in San Diego some 25 miles away.
I remember that on this particular day I had become aware that there was a fire raging near my home and I was told by my co-workers of its location. I knew this fire was very close to my house. It was raging out of control. I immediately went into prayer and prayed that this fire would not hurt anyone at all and then I prayed Psalms 91...the entire psalms. But, what I accentuated the most was that No evil shall befall me and that No plague could come near me or hurt me including my property and home that was in the path of the on-coming fire that was predicted to burn my area. I told the Lord of how great He was and I meant it! I said that the enemy is a liar and He has no power of me or my property because of my Savior. My Savior had already paid the price for me and that included my things! As soon as I got off work, I drove home as quick as I could, still praying in tongues and believing the Word of God totally. As I turned the corner to go to my house I saw the fire rising up in threatening flames on the hill behind my house. I said in complete conviction....this fire will no touch me or my house in Jesus name. Some of my neighbors had already left the area. The firefighters had told them to go and get out so they won't be hurt. When I got to my driveway, I parked my car and went into my house to get all the valuable papers and personal things I could pack in my car and to get my dog. Then I looked out the back door of my house and I saw the fire flames where gone. THEY WERE TOTALLY GONE......THEY HAD DISAPPEARED AND THE WIND HAD CHANGED THE DIRECTION OF THE FIRE TOTALLY. The fire and the threat of destruction was taken care by our Lord. Hallelujah! God is faithful. He's already there taking care of anything you possibly need or think of. He is your shelter.
