| Did That Squirrel Drop Out Of That Tree? |
| |
8:28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, `even' to them that are called according to `his' purpose. One beautiful summer day, I was sitting in a park in Paducah, Kentucky talking with a friend. Suddenly, my friend’s eyes got really big and I heard the sound of a heavy thud behind me.
I turned around and there was a squirrel sprawled out, apparently unconscious, on the ground. Somehow it had fallen out of the huge tree we were sitting under.
My friend and I were stunned. How could a squirrel fall? However, after a few seconds, the squirrel suddenly jumped up, scampered up another tree, and began to jump from limb to limb.
I learned a lesson that day. If even an agile, acrobatic squirrel can fall out of a tree, any of us human beings can fall down in life. However, falling is no shame if you get up, get going, and get back in your tree.
Something tells me that the squirrel didn’t spend the rest of his life feeling guilty over his fall. He was too busy frolicking in the branches to wallow in his mistake.
Perhaps our life would work better if we would learn from the falling squirrel’s example. Let’s get up, live right, and forget our mistakes. |

| Wonderful, Cathy. It is great to see that squirrel get up, live right, and forget his/her mistakes. And enjoy a snack. |

| Birdie: Had it been a birdie instead of a squirrel, it could have flown away. Thanks for reading and commenting. |
| Thanks Lara. It made an impression when it happened. |
| Hang on Brian. Falling out of trees can be harmful. |
| As people of Christ when we fall down we get up |
| Cindy Lou: I don't think a squirrel falling out of a tree is "eeveryday life.' But I know what you mean. |
Amen, Brian. Getting up is good, but hanging on is even better. |
| Hang on, Bubbles. Good things are coming your way. God is doing some positive things you cannot yet see. |
| Steve, LOL.....maybe they just do it when we're not looking, lol...... |
| We all fall from trees every day. My good fortune is that God is there to catch me. |
| That's it Cindy Lou. At night, when we humans are asleep, it is dangerous to be in the woods because of the falling squirrels. You've heard the expression; "It's raining cats and squirrels.' Oh, yeah, you haven't heard it because it is a big cover up. Years ago someone replaced the word "squirrels" with the word "dogs." Boy can I write some nutty stuff. Keep the squirrels away or that will eat up my comment. |
Patti: It's just like falling off a log. Thank God that He catches us. |
| Patti, ......glad He catches me and glad He helps me climb it in the first place :) |

| Whew Steve, I was ready to defend myself and say "I didn't do it!" But I have never even been to to Paducah, Kentucky. |
| You're off the hook, Jerry! |
I forget who said it, but in downtown Newark NJ there is a banner that reads " our greatest glory consists not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall" or 'We fall down, but we get up.....for a saint is just a sinner who fell down, and got up"
by the way, I love squirrels, glad to know he got back up again |
| That's a great slogan, Captain Carol. And it is true! |
| Steve: yep, they do it at night....notice you never see "Watch for Falling Squirrels" signs, hmm, wonder why? |
| Cindy Lou: Yes, we have to keep the secret of the falling squirrels here on mychurch and not let this information get out to the public. |
| Awesome stuff as usual Steve! |
| Thank you very much, Jeremiah. |
