We know how you feel!  A small paint job ALWAYS leads to something else! lol.  And you're not alone when it comes to sanding drywall!  As long as the sun doesn't shine on it, no one will notice it's not smooth :)  only you!

We are right there with you, but we are renovating our entire main floor.  Big job, lots of sawdust!  Bless you as you go through the transition.  Hard job too.

I put up plastic across the opening into the kitchen to keep the dust from going everywhere.  The funny thing is that the way our house is laid out, it sort of cuts the place in two.  Now if you want to go from the kitchen to the living room, you have to go out the sliding glass door in the kitchen, across the back patio and then in the side entrance by the living room.  Works fine, except when it was raining last night ;)

It has been my experience after 23 years of marriage, that all "projects" will involve MORE time than you originally think, MORE money than you originally think, and be a lot MORE detailed than you originally think!  Just keep focusing on the final goal, and you will get through it!  :)

We just finished up a remodel and it was time consuming and expensive and oh so messy to the rest of the house eventhough we blocked off the other areas dust just gets where it wants to. BUT now that  it's all said and done it was so wrth it.  Good luck on yours.

I put on drywall primer and ceiling paint last night.  Drywall primer has got a nasty odor!  I think I was getting pretty loopy on it.  This evening I'll get to really look at the walls and see all the places I need to go back and "touch up" the mudding.  At least the worst of the dust is past.

We decided to put in a hardwood path from the stairs to the garage door.  (More time, more money!!)  So I guess I'll learn about laying wood flooring next!

You know it's nice to know I'm not alone in my disdain for doing drywall.  I'm just thankful the shadows in the bathroom downstairs cover up the bad spots!  8^)  BTW Steve, I'm preparing to install laminate floors and carpet in the upstairs part of my house in the not-too-distant future!  Let's pray for each other that we get it done without injury or undue mental stress!  Oh yeah!  We're painting too!  Let the fun begin!
