For a brief period last evening, there was a set of offensive ads on the blogs page.  We removed them as soon as we learned about them (thank you Neil and Pastor David for grabbing screenshots and alerting us).  

One pitfall with contextual advertising from Google is that ads appear based on the content it sees.  So if there's a blog discussing homosexuality or dating, we're vulnerable to be hit with ads that will make you think you're on Myspace and not MyChurch.  Its the last thing we want, so we need help from the community to monitor.

We have the power to block certain URL's from showing ads. So far we blocked about 30 URL's.  We'll continue to do so whenever we find ads that are inappropriate or irrelevant for a Christian audience.  If you see something offensive, don't click on it.  Instead let myself or someone on the MyChurch team know what the offending URL is, and we'll block it.
