Hello Someone,

I'm not one to come in and pat you on the back and tell you everything is going to be fine, just trust God. That's not my style, and I didn't appreciate it when it was told to me when I was in a 'holler' of my own. I'm going to say something that you may or may not agree with, but it's true in many ways.

Life sucks.

Life is terribly difficult, fraught with danger, and always more than we can take.

There was more than once when I was in your current position (at least as I understand it from what you wrote above). After completing the experience more than once, I have come to a conclusion that has worked 100% and has never failed me.

I have to make a change. Even just a small one to start. But I must begin taking action to change my situation, otherwise my situation is going to change me. Start by making a list of things that need to be done and then prioritize them. Whatever takes top priority must be done quickly today, everything else can take a little longer. Plan your time, plan your life, and plan your future.

I can guarantee you one thing. If you don't get proactive about changing your life, then your life will make the changes for you. If your friends don't want to hear what's going on in your life, then find new friends. If you don't like areas of your life, then simply start changing them.

Vicki and I recently exited one of these situations where we both felt our 'service' to the Lord was undergoing a dramatic change. During that transition, we felt we were given nothing to do, we were simply to wait. It lasted for several years. At the end of that time, we came out on the other side ready and willing to do what He asked. Now our purpose is clear and we move on. That doesn't mean the stormy weather will never return, it just means it's gone for now. When it returns, we will pull out our umbrellas and plan picnics indoors.

So encourage yourself in the Lord, like David did. It isn't easy. The 'sacrifice of praise' is given when we have reason NOT to praise. And it is in those moments that we prove our character.
