| How Do I Make God Smile? |

I heard this sermon at New Life Center and it got me to thinking about how I make God frown. I know we all have short cummings but when you hear a message like this you have no way but to look inward to see what you are doing and what you could do better. One verse that struck me was Iswaiah 45:9 and some thing that Amy has mentioned to me before. In the CEV version is says "You have no right to argue with your Creator. You are merely a clay pot shaped by a potter. The clay doesn't ask, 'Why did you make me this way?'" I know for me I do not ask God why he made me this way. I ask why I made me this way. Why I let things bother me. Why I let stress do what it does to me. Why after Rob posted his blog why I let words have the affect they do on my life. One thing that Pastor James mentioned to me that got me to thinking was that partial obedience is disobedience. In this sermon he was talking about Noah and how long it took him to build the ark. I wonder what I would do if God asked me to build one. I think that I would just laugh. I do not know how the great men or women of God did all that they did. Of course I do not know how the great men and women of God do what they do today. A sermon like this turns thoughts inward and you realize how you have fallen short. Some pick themselves up when they fall short and others like me wallow where we are. I hope to change this but right now this is where I am at. Below is the area's that he has that we can do to make God smile. When I love Him When I trust Him When I serve Him When I praise Him When I obey Him |
