| I don't know why God seems to speak to me more clearly when I'm not thinking, "Man, I wish God would speak to me clearly", but that's the case. I was up late yesterday and already fighting some anxiety on a number of fronts when the Lord spoke...simply, clearly and, as usual...in a sort of mystery. He said, "It's not wait and see (what God will do)"....it's "SEE AND WAIT" for God to do. Huh?! The difference seems almost insignificant at first, but it's not. Hebrews 11 says, "without faith, it is impossible to please God." So, EXPECTANCY is the key to much of what we're "waiting for God" to do in our lives. Another way to say this is, "unless you're expecting God to move, you're not going to see God move." I am sorry if that concept bothers some, it seems as if it might diminish God's sovereignty somewhat.....I must disagree....and I think the scriptures would back up the idea. So, we don't pray with the idea of "okay, now that I've prayed and expressed my needs or concerns or desires....the rest is up to HIM." We pray with the idea that "it is done! Now, I must WAIT ON THE LORD...WAIT IN EXPECTANCY till it is fully accomplished." It is NOT "wait and see"....it is "see and wait". Consider that statement as you read Paul's view of Moses' faith-lesson. " Hebrews 11:24-26, "By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible." Today, if you're "waiting on God" for answers, remember that we believe first and we see second. Moses persevered because he saw....May the Holy Spirit, working in you, keep working "patience" in you until you have received all that God has promised. Be encouraged today...it is finished....and God is faithful....even if your brook has dried up. |
