| Update: Urgent Prayer..please read and pray |
|
| |
My best friend ("Teri the Friend"...fellow mychurcher) is up at the hospital with a long time friend of hers, Catherine. Catherine's grandson was born 13 days ago a very sick baby. His condition has worsened. Teri has been up at the hospital since early this morning. Please pray for her strength as the Lord uses her to minister to this family.Catherine's grandson, Jaron (13 days old) is not doing well. The team from New Orleans flew in this afternoon to stabilize him for the flight to New Orleans. They have to switch him from the hyperventilator to the other one for the flight. When they go to move him, his vitals start to crash. The doctor told Skye (baby's mom) and Catherine tonight that they would transport him as soon as he became stable. They told them that they could leave him here, but there is nothing more the doctors here can do. The N.O. dr. said it is worth a try to attempt the trip. They are hoping to take off tonight, but as of this email (11:40pm) they have not left. Teri will call when they leave and I will send out a quick email. Please agree in prayer that God will be the only breath he needs when he is en route to New Orleans. May he receive a physical touch from the Master Physician. The doctors are not offering any hope...Please agree with us in hoping...believing in expectation...what the Lord will do tonight. We are in a season of miracles. In the days ahead, this family will only be able to say "The Lord God Almighty is Lord of all! He is the healer! Deliverer! Comforter!" Please bear down.... ***right before I went to hit "submit", she called and said he just got on a jet to New Orleans...pray friends... |

| Lord in the Name of Jesus we pray that you would get this child safely to New Orleans. Giver of Life please give him the breath he needs to survive the trip. Please give the family peace and comfort during this most difficult time. We pray for complete healing in Jesus' Name. Amen |

God is doing something big. Just got a call from Teri that Jaron made the trip. Not only did he make it...but the trip was easier on him than they anticipated. They said he's doing a little better. Baby and family have made it safely. Baby Jaron will rest today and the surgeon will evaluate him tomorrow. We serve a mighty God! I will keep you all posted! Praise Him! |

Update and praise the Lord!!!!!!! Jaron is improving. They were able to decrease the blood pressure medicine and he is stabilizing. They removed some tubes also (unsure which ones). They are trying to get him on the EGMO (Spelling?) it's the Heart and lung bypass machine...the whole reason he needed to be in N.O. We don't have one in SW Louisiana. So, we is doing much better, still critical, but improving. Thanks for all of the prayers...but don't let up, he has a ways to go...press in. |
|
|
Angie; I was praying for Jaron and his family and praying the prayer you asked of God... and then I read the comments and Praise God! I am so thankful we serve such a 'Mighty God' able to do all things. Jesus is Lord! I will continue to pray for Jaron and his family and for the doctors working over him , may they be led with the Lord's hands and with the Lord's wisdom. In Jesus wonderful name, Amen. |
|
|
Another note, I mean praise...the nurse said that when she was tending to him today, he followed her with his eyes and moved his head (he has been in a sedated state since birth....) Praise Him! Continue to send up the prayers and He will continue to send the need for praise reports!!!!! Thanks to all! |

Oh my sweet Lord Jesus! I am at home now - Jaryn is still improving!!! I want you all to know that the doctors had told us that we needed to say our final good-bye's before he left for New Orleans because the chances of him surviving the trip were very grim. They wanted to transport him regardless of their expections because "trying" was better than not trying. Well, prayer warriors, let me confirm to you - our God does not work on statistics - our God is not limited to doctor expectations - our God is only confined by our faith in Him. By Jaryn's safe delivery to New Orleans - I know your faith was the power that gave God no limitations - and because of that Jaryn has exceeded the prognosis of the doctors! Please continue to pray - he is far from "out of the woods" - but it is looking better and better. God has his hand on Jaryn and WILL use this baby's UN-DYING health to glorify His name that more may be called unto an UN-DYING belief in Him. I will post again tonight once I have heard all of today's progress. I can't express to you all enough how thankful I am that I have been devinely connected to you - some mighty prayer warriors - by God, Himself. Love and many thanks to you all ... Teri |

Hey prayer warriors - Latest update on Jaryn - they were able to ween him completely off of one of the two blood pressure medications. He is still on the "Dopamine" and they have been able to lower that one a little bit - but he will have to remain on that blood pressure medicine for now. He is on the regular ventalator and is still completely dependant upon the life support machine for his breathing. They have also put him on "Lacix" to reduce the swelling and have inserted a catheter to get a more accurate output from his kidneys (which seem to be working without any problems). From all the information I am getting - he is still making gradual improvements. Please continue to lift this little one up! Also - if you go onto my profile - you can see a slide show of Jaryn on his last day in Lake Charles, LA before he left for New Orleans (Tuesday). If you click on the microphone looking thing at the bottom left of the slideshow - you can hear the music I put with it. Thanks all and will keep you posted. Teri |
|
|
Update: Jaryn is still on the hyperventilator - they would like to begin moving towards transferring him to the regular ventilator. This is still life-support - but not as serious as the hyperventilator. Please pray for an uncomplicated transfer of machines. This is the next "big" step for Jaryn on the road to recovery. I will be leaving Sunday to travel to New Orleans and will probably be there with them for at least a week and will not have access to Internet. I will keep Angie Pangie updated and she will continue to post on his condition. Thanks again to all of you faithful pray warriors! Teri the Friend |
|
|
| Dear Heavenly Father, please heal little Jaron, bless his family... for Your Glory. |
|
|
Update: I spoke with Teri last night - baby Jaryn had a rough day/night Sunday. The doctor's think he may have had a seizure, although he has not had one since then. He also has an unexplained rash. It seems to come and go. They have taken some cultures to see if they can identify the cause. Other than that, there are many good things going on - Jaryn is completely off of the blood pressure medication! The swelling in his little body has gone down. Prayers are still needed. We are seeing God's mighty hand working on his body - healing and restoring. The family needs prayers. Financially this is a serious obstacle for them. They may not even be able to stay in New Orleans the whole time he is there due to financial issues. Please pray that the Lord would send His children to meet all of their needs financial, spiritual, and emotional. Thank you mychurch family for the prayers. |

| Thanks for the update! I sent a message asking how Jaryn was doing...no need to respond to it. ~Val~ |

Another update (11:30am Lousiana time...lol) First things first: The doctors in N.O. did not end up using the medical equipment that baby jaryn went there to be able to use (the heart-lung bypass). NOTHING in N.O. is being done that couldn't have been done in our home town. Therefor the family, Teri, and I KNOW that it is through the prayers to the Most High God, the Great Physican that healing is taking place. They said "No Hope"...He said "I AM HOPE"!!!!!! Praise Him and continue to lift Jaryn to Him! Teri just called - huge praise report! They are beginning to wean Jaryn off of the hyperventilator and onto the reular ventilator. So far, so good! The rash is GONE! He is more awake (for minutes at a time) and NOT irritable! Skye (mom) has still not been able to hold Jaryn in her arms. He will be three weeks old tomorrow. Although we are praying for COMPLETE and full, quick recovery. The next step is getting him safely onto the regular ventilator, although if the Lord would just make so that he could breath easily with NO ventilator...that's good too! His will, His timing. The Lord knows what he is doing. There are seeds being planted NOW that I can't even fathom what the harvest will look like! Continue to pray...next update tomorrow! FYI I am reading comments, names of those who starred, and where eveyone is from to "Teri the Friend" (she is relaying this to the mother and grandmother). Please continue to comment - we are RIGHT NOW - being watched and heard as "Christians" to see if we really "love", pray, and care. They are giving Him the glory and are being uplifted by your words! |

still transitioning, going very well, but a slow process.no rashes/hives today! (Praise God!) They have moved the Oxygen from 50 (yesterday) to 40 today and he did GREAT! Still need prayers! Nurse said it won't be long before she can hold him for the first time...maybe for Mother's Day...Wouldn't that be an awesome Mother's Day gift from the Lord?????? More later...but all is good! Keep commenting, they are enjoying hearing the prayers...very much an encouragement. |

Here's a sneak peek at what the Lord is doing in Jaryn's life...he is now on a regualr repirator...no more hyperventilator!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was completely a God thing and very quick! Rash - still gone - in the name of Jesus! He is improving daily! Look what the Lord has done Look what the Lord has done He healed my body He touched my mind He saved me, just in time Oh, I'm gonna praise His name Each day is just the same Come on and praise Him Look what the Lord has done!!!!!!! Hey all ... first of all thank you for your heart-felt prayers. They have really encouraged the family and helped to renew their faith in our All-Mighty Father. I made it safely back from New Orleans (praise). Jaryn is continuing to improve on a daily basis and a lot more rapidly than they had anticipated or even thought was possible (God showed them - haha). NEW PRAISE: He is now completely weened from the Nitric Oxide. Since on the conventional ventilator .... Day One - machine breathing for him 35 times/minute and Jaryn breathing 0 times/minute on his own. Day Two - machine 35 - Jaryn 28. Day Three - machine 35 - Jaryn - 45 to 50 times/minute! Oh my! Today is the fourth day ... just what will the Lord do? I am excited with anticipation! Hives returned yesterday - they have called in an allergy specialist that will be seeing Jaryn today. The doctors are not that concerned about the allergic reaction he is having - they are more curious than anything as to why the hives appear - turn into a rash all over his little body and then disappears - all within about a 30 minute span from start of hives to all is well??? The chest x-rays are showing major improvement with the pneumonia - doctors are stunned at how well they are improving. (Don't you just love it when God amazes the doctors??? Leaves them scratching their heads and concluding ... "It must have been God." Well, duh - ya' think??? I just love that!) Friends ... what can I say? God is just so sweet! I posted some new photos of Jaryn - you will be on your knees in praise ... in awe of the Master Physician! You can see a new slide show on my profile page. Love to you all and many thanks from the bottom of my heart! I can't wait to hug all your necks when we meet on the other side! Teri the Friend |

Teri the Friend, I count it all joy that the Father asks us to be a part of what He is doing. I wish I knew more why prayer is a part of the Kingdom, but until I do, I am glad He uses people like Angie to bring it to our attention and I am glad there are those of us who will pray. Sometimes we never see what God has done. In this case Jaryn has come a long way. Sounds like he still has a long way to come, but he appears to be getting stronger with each passing day. Keep confusing the docs - not in a way that pulls them down, but in a way that raises Jesus up! TGBTG Forever and ever! |
|
|
| Amen DC...and please remember...Mother's day would be a great day for Mama Skye to get to hold Jaryn in her arms! Teri got more good news today, but since I stink at relaying medical terms...I'll get her to comment tomorrow! Love to all! |

Okay ... here goes more praise! Went down on the oxygen supply from the machine from 40 to 32. This was at 100% for the first 2.5 weeks of his little life and steadily coming down! The ventilator was started at a support rate of 35 beats/minute. Yesterday, they lowered it to 30. Jaryn is now at a more steady rate of breathing on his own - machine now at 30 and Jaryn at 30. They are tied for now - but look out machine - Jaryn is winning! They took the catheter (sp?) out today. His urine output is very good - it's just him and the diaper now ... and for the first time in my life - I will be excited to change a diaper!!!!! Praise God I will get to change Jaryn's diaper ... hugh? Funny how we can be brought to this type of gratefulness! On Tuesday, the docs put a feeding tube down his nose into his little belly and actually fed him some milk! It was only 3 cc's - but - hey it's real food! Jaryn gives kudos! He is still getting the nutrition packs thru IV - it is called "TPN". This is all he has had since birth - so, again, Jaryn gives the milk two thumbs up! ECO (heart ultrasound) came back completely normal. So the thickness of his heart and the enlargement are now normalized (to perfection - the way God intended all along ...)! Started weening another sedative called "Versed". After this one is weened - he will have three more to go. The "Adavan", "Fentynal" and "Phenabarbatal" - (sp?). He has been on 5 different sedatives all at the same time - so we are down one - working on the second, with 3 more to ween after that. They think the hives may have been due to a supplement they were giving called Lipids. They discontinued the Lipids on Monday and no hives since then have appeared - maybe "bingo" ??? We will see. AND.... for the final praise - as of yesterday (Wednesday) - there are no signs of swelling (adema) ANYWHERE! His head and upper body, which were still swollen are now completely down to normal. Our little man looks the same size now as he did when he was born. Jaryn actually looks like a healthy baby now that just has some wires hooked up to him ... he doesn't LOOK sick. God is good at giving comfort! Please continue to pray. He is still on a long road - but the "Light" at the end is very visible. We are really looking forward to Skye being able to hold her precious little miracle in her arms for the first time this Sunday - Mother's Day! Yes, we should look forward to it because we have prayed with expectation as is evident from his miraculous progress! Loves to you all! And again, many thanks! Mmmmhwah! (That's a kiss : ) Your prayers are lifted, heard and not returned void ... Teri |

Please read this note from Carl - Jaryn's grandpaw: Teri, Please post this for me on mychurch prayer blog for Jaryn: As I sat here reading this blog with VERY LARGE tears running down my face with a huge smile in tack at the same time, I want to Thank EVERYONE from the bottom of my heart for praying so many wonderful and VERY meaningful prayers for my Grandson. I know I speak for my wife and daughter when we say to you THANK YOU ALL. Without your prayers and belief in OUR GOD ALMIGHTY, Our Lil Angel wouldn't be here today with us, and we all know this. YOU and so many more TRUE, LOVING, CARING Christians have been putting in a lot of overtime praying for this lil man, because GOD has been holding his little hand the entire time. I now know what it is like to kiss an Angel, as I have so many times kissed that lil boy and so badly want to hold him, BUT, Mommy gets to first, and then Grandmaw, aka (Mi Mi) and then me and Teri get to fight over which of us is 3rd lol... Teri is dearly a WONDERFUL friend of our family and we thank GOD we have her in our lives, and she has reminded us once again to see and know that God is great and that he works through others in so many different ways. I am so lost for the proper words to thank everyone with, but I trust that you all know how grateful we truly are. With our most sincere thanks, Carl, Cat and Skye.. God Bless YOU ALL... |

Wow, reading these last few comments and seeing the picture sure brought back memories. My youngest was premature and she was in the hospital for one month. Then another 2 weeks after that, when she came down with double pnemonia and severe RSV. It was by far the most difficult time in my life. I think I left some of my sanity at GBMC hospital, Franklin Square and Johns Hopkins (all of the three stops, because they couldn't get her better). She is almost 9 now and cute as can be. I post this to give you all hope for a brighter future. I certainly remember how emotionally draining this all can be. And Jamie didn't have near the problems this little guy is having. My prayers are with you all. May God uphold you during this most difficult time. I will leave you with a picture of my little princess. God has a plan for Jaron! |

Are you sitting down? Skye got to hold Jaryn today! And the experience was way more than I had imagined it could be. I had envisioned that first of all - if she did get her wish granted - to hold her baby boy for the first time today - that it would be like this - Skye would stand next to his bed - they would lift Jaryn up just enough for her to slip her arms underneath him and then they would lay Jaryn back down so that he would be resting on her arms. I imagined that she might be able to do this for a max of about 5 minutes. Well, once again, I asked God to give Skye a lemon and He answered with a beautiful field of lemon trees that were full of beautiful fruit!
When Skye arrived at the hospital this morning - she was asked to sit in a chair that they had placed next to his bed - they had been preparing for this! They arranged the wires that connects Jaryn to his machines in such a way that they could take him out of his bed - lower him down to her in the chair and secured his wires to the chair so that she could safely hold her little miracle! Skye got not only to hold Jaryn - but to cuddle with him right up next to her. She got to love on him, caress him, speak to him in his ear, whisper lullabies and sweet somethings to him - up close and personal! She and Jaryn got to share this special time for a whole 30 minutes! Grandma took lots of pictures and cherished her child holding her miracle ... their miracle ... their little Jaryn.
What a glorious Mother's Day this was for both Skye and Catherine. I believe, because of your prayers and the glorious graciousness of our Father that they both recieved something else on this Mother's Day ... the TRUE and UNDENIABLE gift of gratitude for life and all that it implies. An amazing assurance that God is ever so present in their lives!
Now for the medical update: I recently reported that they gave Jaryn 3cc's of milk thru a feeding tube. He didn't do too well ... he ended up throwing up some green bile - this happened on May 7th. So, they decided not to feed him any more for a few days. They tried again on May 11th - they gave him 5cc's and he did just fine. They now have him on an every 6/hour 5cc schedule for his milk. I preume they will up the milk as the days progress.
Other happenings on May 11th: Ventilator setting at 30 - went down to 23. Jaryn's breathing was in the range of 25-30 times/minute on top of the machine.
Quit giving him two of the antibiotics he was on because viral cultures came back negative.
Decided to begin a regimented weening process of the Versed and the Fentynal - they will ween one of the two on one day and then the other on the next day and will continue this regimen until he is completely weened. These are two highly addictive sedatives and the doctors said that because he has been on both of these since birth - that it is very likely that his body is addicted to them both. In an effort to avoid shock to his system or any type of withdrawals - they are taking the weening process very slow. If it ends up causing withdrawal symptoms, then they will have to give him methadone to help deal with the shock to his system. We are praying against this in the name of Jesus!
Almost immediatly after birth, a wire was put into his belly button to give a constant reading of his blood pressure. This was one of the wires that was preventing him from being held. Well, as God was preparing for Skye to hold Jaryn on Sunday - God had the doctors "decide" to take the wire out and begin taking his blood pressure thru a cuff on his arm ... you know, since his blood pressure is now very stable! (Yeah - Go God!)
His oxygen supply from the machine is now down to 30! The awesome part about this is that his blood oxygenation levels are staying between 94 and 100. Every time they lower the oxygen supply - Jaryn kicks in and makes up the difference! Isn't our God just so precious like that???
May 12th:
Okay ... drum roll please ...
I called Skye for an update and she was very excited to report that when they went to the hospital that morning, they had lowered Jaryn's ventilator to 15! That's half of the support that he was on yesterday! Again, Jaryn kicked in and kept his total breaths per minute at around 60 (so, now the machine is at 15/min and Jaryn at approx. 45/min - Jaryn definitely winning now!!!!!).
While I was on the phone with Skye, which was later that afternoon, Catherine decided to call the hospital from her cell phone to see if anything had changed. The nurse said that Jaryn had so amazed them that they decided to try and take him off of the machine completely to see how he would respond. But after a short while, they decided that it may have not been such a good idea because his total breaths per minute that he was getting was dropping too low. They put him back on the machine - right back at 15, where he was and he picked right back up. They took some blood to check his blood gases ... the report showed numbers that were a little too low to their liking so they eased the machine back up to 20.
They took the blood gas tests again a few hours later and the numbers were excellent. So, we will see what tomorrow brings!
Thanks again to you all who are still praying ... it's still moving the heavens!

| Like Angie said...I can't imagine what God has planned for this little boy. What a beautiful Mother's Day story that should go down in history as one of the greatest ever told. I love serving this God. There is no other worthy of our praise! |

Well said, Voice in DC and Angie Pangie! I can remember when Jaryn was first born and we just didn't know what God was going to do (or not do) .... and Angie told me, "Teri, I have been praying for Jaryn off and on all day and I started trying to envision Jaryn at the age of 18 - I would love to have a peek at his life at that age to see what God is doing with him, and how God uses him for his kingdom!"
That made an impact on me. Visions is part of what God has given Angie - she is a very visual person - and I believe that God is going to fulfill the vision she had for Jaryn ...
We know He is going to use Jaryn in a mighty way - why else would Satan have worked overtime to steal him from us? So, while we know that God is going to use Jaryn mightily - I share the longing with Angie to see exactly what God is going to do!
I, along with you all, asked with expectation and now we look to Jaryn's future with anticipation!
Thanks again D.C. - you are an awesome brother! And, as for you Angie, you know that you are my divinely appointed best friend - thank you for always living up to that title ... without fail ... your faithful friendship never ceases to amaze me! |
|
|
I can see why you are "Teri the Friend" |

This morning we sang:
There is a Fountain Who is a King Victorious Warrior Lord of everything My Rock My Shelter My very own Blessed Redeemer, Who reigns upon the throne... Who can satisy my heart like You? Who could ever comfort me? And love me like You do? Who could ever be more faithful, true? Lord, Jesus Lord Jesus LORD JESUS THERE'S NONE LIKE YOU!
Who could have done what He's done in Jaryn's life...no one! He is certainly worthy of our praise! I keep singing this song tonight.(...and doin' a little snoopy dance too!) Love to you both - Angie |

Wanted to add a special thanks to Pastor Yuci and WebYouthPastor for meeting me and my friends, Catherine and Skye, at the hospital in New Orleans. They used to be the youth pastors at my home church - but are now doing God's work in New Orleans. They came and prayed over Baby Jaryn - the next morning is when he was transferred from the hyperventilator to the conventional ventilator. Mighty prayer to our powerful God! They also had the opportunity to minister to Skye and Catherine while they were there. They made a great impact on Skye and I am praying that Skye will stay in touch with them, especially while they are in New Orleans. Pastor Yuci and WebYouthPastor (Pat and Yuci - husband and wife youth ministers) reached out to her and would like to be able to minister to them while Jaryn is in New Orleans. Please pray that Skye will reach back to them and allow them to be a part of this miraculous experience - not only for Jaryn's sake - but for her own.
Don't have an update as of yet for today ... I will have one before the end of the night.
Thanks again to every one! |

| Don't know Pasor Yuci, but know WYP through this mychurch site...what a wonderful man of God and a strong witness to be there for them! |

It is my pleasure to pray for this little life to be taken care of by the Oh Mighty One. I will continue to pray for the baby. God Bless You Barb B |

He is a beautiful little man. Please pray for his mother, she is also only a baby herself. There are no accidental children...God plans each one. Teri, please keep us informed. We would like to visit her again.
DC, I don't even know what to say...

Update: Not many changes since Mother's Day. Since they took him off the vent and put him right back on ... they have kept his stats pretty much the same so that he can become 100% stable and strong in prepartion of trying for another withdraw from the machine. When I talked to Skye earlier today, she said that the doctors told her today that they want to give it another try within the next few days! Pray, pray, pray!
Skye was pretty excited when I talked to her today. She said Jaryn was wide awake for their visit today and was just staring at her and checking her out as she talked to him. He was very calm and just watching them as they cooed over him. A sweet moment for them, I am sure. Dad of the baby (David) has been in N.O. with Skye and Catherine since Saturday. He got to witness Skye holding him for the first time and has been able to spend some time with her and the baby over the past several days. He is heading back to Lake Charles tomorrow and is supposed to be bringing me some new pics on disc by the end of the week ... so, I will post some new pics just as soon as I get my hands on them.
Oxygen - still set at 30.
Vent - still set at 20 breaths/minute - and Jaryn is breathing between 40-50 times/minute on his own. That has been at a stable number for the past 48 hours.
He is getting 5cc's of milk every 6 hours.
Blood oxygenation is still running between 97-100 (awesome)!!!
Still weening the sedatives slowly ... a little each day - now withdrawals as of yet!
Reported that Chest X-Rays were a little better as of yesterday. Right side is cloudy - but they are continuing to move him in an effort to reduce the build up in his lungs. Moving him around has proved to be a great way to improve the pneumonia.
It's all looking better and better!!!
Brother Pat (WYP) and Sister Yuci ... thanks again for being there ... y'all are precious to me. Yeah, D.C. - as my grandma would say "they's jus' good people!!!" |
|
|
Teri,
Thanks for the update. Prayers continue on the east coast. Go, Jaryn, go!! |
|
|
Are you sitting down and ready for a praise?
Jaryn is completely off of the ventilator and is breathing on his own!
If you remember, they tried to take him off one day last week and he didn't last for even one minute before they had to put him back on because he just couldn't make it on his own (YET).
Well, Skye called me this afternoon and said, "Aunt Teri, guess what!!!" ... "the hospital called a few minutes ago and said that they took Jaryn completely off of the machine and he has been off of it for 15 minutes now and is continuing to be stable!" Skye and Catherine jumped in the vehicle to get to the hospital and promised to call me back after they got to see him.
About an hour later, Skye called and said, "Aunt Teri, listen - just listen!" A brief moment later - I heard the voice of a baby crying! That voice was Jaryn's! This was the first time anyone heard his voice! Skye recorded it on her cell phone so she could share the moment! It was such a beautiful sound. I was immediately reminded of what Angie told me. She had said that when she was praying for Jaryn, that God reminded her ... "I am the breath of life ... I am the giver of life!"
I cried and rejoiced with Skye. It was truly a beautiful moment! I wish you all had been on a conference call with us - so that we could have rejoiced together!
The next and only steps left are:
1. Get him off of the oxygen. He is getting 30% from the machine. Room temperature is 21% - so, he won't be on this for much longer.
2. Teach him how to suck - they said this can be difficult sometimes, believe it or not. But with the way God has been working in his little life - he might just suck away the very first time they try to "teach" him!
3. In the mean time, he is still getting milk thru a feeding tube. They are going to increase the intervals and how much given with each. Once they are comfortable with him sucking and his stomach handling the milk ... they will put the two together and then he will be feeding like a healthy baby.
THEN ... he gets to go home! Did you hear that??? Are you crying Holy, Holy, Holy???
The doctor said this should all happen within a week to week and a half!
Less than a month ago - the doctors in Lake Charles said, "there is just nothing more that we can do for him", "say your good-bye's", "he probably won't make the trip to New Orleans", "we've simply done all we can do".
Well, today, I am here to tell you ... God didn't agree with those doctors about him not making it - but he did agree that there was nothing more they could do! You see, God wanted to do it and get all the glory so that the witnesses of His hand on this child might draw some closer into a relationship with Him.
You all had a huge and significant part in the life of this child. How can we ever thank you for your timely prayers???
I will post new pics as soon as I get them ...
Loves, hugs and kisses to each of you!

Well, God be Praised! Is this awesome or what??? Fantastic!
I was running low on tissues as it was :)

Happy tears! Now these final few steps I remember all too well. My little one went through all of them. He will home before we know it. It is often even sooner than they say. She will just go in there one day and they will say "the big day's tomorrow." They need a very good medical reason to keep him there every minute. And they will soon be out of reasons! Bless the Lord! |

| The Wonder Of A Child The Wonder Of A Child,so sweet, loving and special. No better present could ever be unwrapped. To love them for just a minute or an hour or a day. Is to feel the truest hand of God. Touch your heart in no other way. To have them for a year or two is such a blessed event. That nothing could promise more joy. Then to have them longer yet. No one knows the love you feel. And how it does still grow. Because when you see the wonder of a child. Its then you really know. The truest love of all.

OK folks..more good stuff... Yesterday Teri updated with these next prayer requests included....Read the praises in red... The next and only steps left are:
1. Get him off of the oxygen. He is getting 30% from the machine. Room temperature is 21% - so, he won't be on this for much longer. Jaryn is OFF of the oxygen completely!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Teach him how to suck - they said this can be difficult sometimes, believe it or not. But with the way God has been working in his little life - he might just suck away the very first time they try to "teach" him! The kid has GOT IT! He is a good "sucker". They are prepping his stomach w/ a 1/2 a cc every hour (through the feeding tube) to handle the milk!!!!!!!
3. In the mean time, he is still getting milk thru a feeding tube. They are going to increase the intervals and how much given with each. Once they are comfortable with him sucking and his stomach handling the milk ... they will put the two together and then he will be feeding like a healthy baby. on the way there!!!!!!
The feeding tube will be removed soon (it was and then they put it back to see how his stomach did getting small amounts of milk). Other than the feeding tube, the only other "connection" he has is an IV in his leg for nutrients and meds when needed. Well, the reason I am updating tonight instead of Teri...jaryn's grandma called after church and said "Guess what I'm doing...holding Jaryn..."he was making sweet noises. And well, my friend couldn't stand it. She threw some stuff together and headed for New Orleans after the phone call. She arrived safely and was waiting to get her grubby hands on that angel. She surprised "mom" and "grandma". I am hoping for another update later tonight or in the morning. Teri said she will take video and new pics, so keep checking back! I feel as though we are all Jaryn's family. (awaiting pictures like proud aunts and uncles) So to Uncle DC, Aunt Michele, Aunt Val, Aunt Kelly, Aunt Mary Ann, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Joe, Aunt "Jesus is Worthy", Uncle Pat, Aunt Yuci, Uncle Mike, Aunt Laura, Aunt Sue, Aunt Carebear, and Uncle Floyd...and all the others who didn't comment, but prayed/are praying for Jaryn...thank you and keep 'em comin'! He hears our prayers!!!!!!!! Pastor Pat - Teri will be there until Tues! |
