I really liked the version of the verse that was on my profile page. It said "he who loves money never gets enough". Boy there's a tremendous truth there. As a matter of fact I think that just about anything can be inserted in there. Food, cars, sports, even God what if we loved God so much that we could never get enough. Whatever the focus of your heart there also is your treasure. I have always said that everyone has just as much of God as they want. If there's not enough God in your life to suit you it's because deep down you don't really want Him to be. We allow the pursuit of everything else in this world get in our way of pursuing God. The pursuit of money, the pursuit of love, the pursuit of happiness, the pursuit of prestige, the pursuit of anything other than God can quickly become a sidetrack if we allow it. Is that to say that all other pursuits are sin? No. Yet Solomon does seem to address it in Ecclesiastes. The pursuit of everything other than God is empty, vain, worthless when compaired to the pursuit of God because ultimately these pursuits of things will not satisfy or fulfill. Somehow much of the Church world missed the part about friendship with the world is at emnity with God. We tend to like it in the world and especially here in the U.S. Hate to tell everyone but the U.S. will not be around forever. God will be! Seek God and let everything else take a back seat. 5:10 When goods are increased, the number of those who take of them is increased; and what profit has the owner but to see them?
