| A Baptist Preacher Confronts |

The following quotations are from the book: CONFRONTING CAUSAL CHRISTIANITY -- A CALL TO TOTAL COMMITMENT by Baptist preacher Charles Stanley, published by Broadman & Holman Publishers.
"We nonchalantly and quietly go about our own business as though God never existed, as though God were dead. What we are indicating is: 'Lord, Your plan doesn't fit my plan. I choose my plan over Your plan.' That is disastrous." --Charles Stanley
"The Bible is not a book for our convenience. It speaks about commitment and sacrifice and going the second mile, leaving all to follow Jesus." -C.S.
"The Christians of this nation are abundantly supplied with many resources, spiritual and material, and yet we are making a pitiful showing in our influence and impact on society." --C.S.
"No Christian has the right to live his own life and do his own thing. If the God of the Bible is your God, He has the final authority over your life." --C.S.
"The most important consideration is not what you have or do not have, but what has you? What are you captured by? What are you captivated with? What are you dominated and controlled by?" --C.S.
"Are you committed to Jesus, obedient to Him, sold out to Him, turned over to Him, following Him, seeking His guidance, doing His will, acting on His commandments, engaged in His ministry, doing His bidding with all your being? Is Jesus Christ Number One in your entire life?" --Charles Stanley |

| I appreciate those comments and stars. Just think what millions of sold out, anti-casual Christians could do to evangelize and disciple this world. |

Hi Steve. I was thinking that I might open a personal blog for my Frenette family. a personal - just for you - blog where they can come, if they choose, to see what I was inspired to send them for any given day. We presently communicate by email. There way over there (N.B. & one in U.S.) and I'm here in T.O. (Toronto, ON CANADA). This particular blog - A Baptist Preach Confronts - is one I would like to stir them with. In the emails, my sisters/bro and I chat about our daily lives, this and that - and every now and then when the Lord puts a high burden on me, I speak about my Lord - &/or make a call to come where 'the water is fine'. However, they continue to love me, but consider me a pest for doing so.
It came to my thoughts to do the personal blog site while I was at the beachside here in T.O. on Thursday - where I come to meet before God, where His creation is so poignantly wooing me to HIm, causing my love for Him, my recognition of Him, to be stirred, to overflow. I was reminded of Saturday in fact, by your (most recent?) blog. Ah yes. "It causes me to tremble."
I'm saying more than I originally meant to say. Taking up space here. Anyway, while at the beach, it came to me that I might open up a personal blog, just between me, and my genetic family. (6 sisters and a brother - and possibly cousins, nephews, etc.). in hopes that they will see this as an act of love. To have a space just for them. A place where they can come to read a portion of scripture that is freshly chosen from my Inspirer, my God for the day. HOw easy it would be for them to just choose to sign in, and look when there at the compurter. If they will. // They will know that this IS specifically for the purpose. // And if their so inclined, motivated to do so, they can get a taste of the Word, and whatever the Lord inspires, inclines me to bring into the blogsite to enhance. All this I have said... All I really wanted to say is 'I'm wondering what would be the best way for me to store THIS particular blog, as one to include in it. // I guess the thing for me to do is discover the space/site where this blog will be, and just find my storage there - that I may offer each piece that comes in ripened time, creating the background and surroundings for each piece accordingly. (I guess I can store it in 'my documents' on my computer for now. Any thoughts on that? Any feedback? Thank you for sharing this tidbit. in jChrist, Denise Fre... |
