Someone asked me about my “My Church page” they wanted to know why the Madea movies were there. They wanted to know why some of my music wasn’t gospel. And why the books I chose were those books. The primary reason those things are on my page is because to some degree they are part of who I am. Secondly, I’m not ashamed of what’s on my page. There is no Spiritual life and real life, it’s all a reflection of my spirit man, weaknesses and strengths. Just the fact that they asked made me want to “Check for Change”. Check it out and see what or if I need to change some things. Not to impress men but to see if my ways are pleasing the Lord. So I’ve been asking myself, what does my lifestyle say about me? What do my conversations and actions say about me? Is what I speak in my silence greater than the volume of my words? Are my words clear and concise? Am I being sincere or am I just appeasing? What needs to change? Who do I access and who do I allow access to me? What does your life or page say about you? You may not care what others think of your life, maybe your pleased as Ice Cream about it. But is God pleased? Does it reflect the new man or woman that you are in Christ Jesus? Would the people who access your “Page” know you as the same person who is on your “My Church” page?. If by chance we came across your My Space or Face Book Page, would you feel the need to explain or defend yourself? [smile] I’m a Mother of 3 and I know my son and daughters don’t tell me everything and I can be fooled. I’m asking them to ask themselves the same questions. We may fool people, but we’re never fooling Holy Spirit. And what Holy Spirit causes to grow, changes for the better. He reads our text, sees our pages, hears our two-way, and knows our codes. He is the Discernerof hearts and can even discern our many “Spiritual” Words and Motives. Even our need to pray for someone AFTER we spill all the dirty details. And He knows, that the only one, you’ve fooled into believing you have a spiritual life and a real life…is you. He wants to help us come up higher in our daily living. Your truly greatest testimony must first be to you then to others. Remember, God is never deceived. And He doesn’t want us to be deceived by others or OURSELVES. If we’re still doing the things we did before we accepted Jesus as our SAVIOR, we’ve been standing still. What do we do from here? We make Jesus LORD, by allowing Him to “Check and Change” our lives. I hope you’ll join me this week for a personal “Check and Change“. You’ll know your “Pages” are right when you can invite Pastor to be your friend. [smile!] |

I see your not scrrrrrd to put your page out there!! I've started a MySpace Page but I don't know how to invite people. I'll have Katie show me. [smile] But its not just young people, you'll find some 25 - 30 year olds with questionable sites. There are not many folks who will show their "Pages". Even if we don't let the nation see, we know our own hearts. |

| Amen Christeena! I haven't arrived either, but Holy Spirit and I are working on it. [smile] I was reading 2 Peter 1 today, and in verse 8 [?], he urged us to increase in maturity. Further along he told us to make our calling and election sure in Christ. Christ didn't die for us just so we wouldn't go to hell, He meant for us to make where we are reflect heaven, while we're here. You can't do that and live the old life you came out of. You can't do that and still hold on to rude behavior and crude words and deeds. When you spoke of people coming to church and sleeping or gossiping, it made me think about myself. I found myself gossiping, only I didn't consider it gossiping when I did it. But God did and He called it sin. Whats progressive about keeping your sin and changing its name? Nothing. I really like what you said about "looking for the footsteps of the Lord" I'm going to keep that in my heart and endeavor to do it moment by moment. Thank You! |

Love you post!
We have a sign under our computer that says something like... Will you let Jesus see or read this? And it has the picture of Jesus looking at a computer. Having this sign is like holding Jesus' hand while we're walking through waters full of alligators. We can't take the alligators out of the water (there are too many), but Jesus is there to show us where are the big stones so we can put our feet in solid ground, protected and secured. HEY, you may slip, and you may wet a toe, but HE will carry you and put you back in that stone as long as you hold His hand with all you’ve got ;-) However, there are people that compartmentalize God. They invite Him to join them only on Sundays and leave Him out on Mondays. God doesn’t want just to be Lord of a single part of our lives; He wants to be our LORD 24/7.
That is my prayer that I open myself to HIS LORDSHIP every moment of my life and in everything I do.
BTW, I love Madea! She is too funny ;-) and the plays and movies have an awesome message of hope, forgiveness, and redemption. I just don’t want her as my mother in law. lol lol lol

Great blog, and so true! We need to learn to be more transparent with each other, and we need to learn to love our brothers and sisters in Christ unconditionally, even if they do not fit into our "mold" of what a Christian is supposed to look like, dress like, talk like, what movies they like or what music and books they like. We all fall short, and are saved only by the Grace of God through Faith. Thanks for sharing this. Carol |
