| Love...giving your life away |

Anyone who has kids can relate to this. When you have kids you cease living for yourself and you begin to live for your children. Why? Because you love them more than you do yourself. What parent wouldn't willingly give up their life to save the life of their child/children? I know there are some out there who don't really love their children, but the majority of parents will do anything for their kids, but is that what this verse is speaking about? Love for family? Or is it something more? Do we love our neighbors enough to take a bullet for them? I could go on, but I think you probably get the point. It isn't our love for others that should drive us to the point of willingness to give up our lives...it should be our love for Christ.
So, walk in love...give your life away.
5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. |
