| Answering the call...Please pray for us. |

Carmen, my wife, and I sat and talked tonight after Church. We were watching the American Idol show that featured poverty all around the world and we both just sat there crying. It was the AMerican Idol gives back episode from Wednesday night. We have had this discussion several times before like when a missionary comes to speak at church. But tonight was different. Through my tears I said, "I think I'm changing my emphasis at school (I'm in Seminary)" She asked, "What to?" I responded, "To missions..." Carmen began to weep. I said, "We don't have any excuse. I can't sit here watching people suffer as they are and do nothing." She agreed. Now, Carmen is an RN and has been for 8 years. I am a Chef who got gloriously saved and then called to preach. I don't know what God is doing in our hearts right now, but He's up to something and I ask for your prayers that His will might be clear. I need clarification as to what field- US or abroad. Please, pray for us. I love you all, Brother Chris |

This comment actually has to do with just two words in your blog......American Idol! Did you see Melinda's performance last night? What an anointed worship song, I cried through the whole thing! Awesome, I sure hope she wins. Oh, and I will be praying that God will direct your steps and make your path straight. I haven't watch the show yet tonight, but I have it on tape. |

praying for His will for your life to be clear, confirmed, and sealed. On a lighter note...I keep asking Him to make me a beach missionary! The missionaries that were Holly Beach missionaries are not coming back (Christian resort destroyed in Hurricane Rita) Prayerfully, the answer will not be, "um, no!, how about Alaska!?!" Too cold! Holly Beach was a party place. Holly beach Christian Resort was a light in the darkness there. Now that many are rebuilding, unsure what direstion it is headed. Wanna head south? |

We're not opposed to South. Who handled that ministry before? Which mission board? I can tell you that Carmen and I both have always felt deeply drawn to the Mountains. We moved here 12 years ago from the Mtns of NC. We feel drawn to Western/Northern VA. |

| Uh, don't know the answer to that. It was through the Southern Baptist, I think. I will email or post a link to an article about the missionaries and the resort. Although it was very rustic, camp-like, and beachy, there was an awesome gazebo for concerts and outreaches on the beach. I think it's somewhere in Cuba now:( |

I will be praying that the Lord confirms and re-confirms His call for you and your wife. I will also pray that while your eyes are focusing more and more upon "what's coming up ahead", that you would not forget the mission field of the supermarket checkout line, the gas pumps, and all the other "inconsequential" places where the Lord places you to minister to others. May the Lord bless you as you seek His face in all you do! In His service, and yours, jason |

You got it Pastor Chris... in my prayers. Hey, sorry we missed you on our trip down to Mississippi. Mark Wigley said you were going to call and that we might meet for coffee or something. That would have been cool. Blessings, Mary Ann |

| Thank you, Rita. I learned a long time ago to wait on God. Becoming a missionary takes time depending on what field you go to. Carmen and I have just come to the realization that it is time to surrender. He'll show us the way. We appreciate your prayers. |
