it seems we had our hearts pricked. at least i did. the question i had to answer for myself is, am i giving God my leftovers or the best i have. both in praise and time and effort. am i giving the sacrifice of Esau? good but not my best? am i lifting my hands and singing his praise as a ritual, or from the heart? Betty and i went back to the verses in Malachi, and read the entire book. it came to us that we need to search our thoughts and motives for praise and offerings, both physical and spiritual. I'm afraid i came up a lot short on both. God requires our all, not a few pieces of silver and a hallelujah or two now an then.
i expect our request to be answered with a great bang. yet i don't give him even a firecracker to work with. need to dig a lot deeper for time with him and understanding the word, and fellowship in his presents. to be honest, i wouldn't give me the time of day. let alone "the desires of my heart". dont' pretend to know what anyone else needs, or wants from a relationship with God and His Son, but i know i need the guidance from the Holy Spirit, and time with Them more than anything else. my family and friends here and afar off need this of me for my prayers for them to be effective. i recently had the opportunity to speak the name of Jesus to people who have never heard it before. yes their are a lot of those still out there. not just children, but adults of all ages. so secluded from civilization we had to have translators for the translators. English to Spanish to native cetchua of Peru, before the Spaniards, before the Incas of Ecuador and Mexico. what a steering of my soul, truly lost people if i don't give them His word in a way that they could receive it. beyond the witch dr.s and superstitions of their ancestors of the past centuries. like i said, felt ill equipped and totally unprepared, unworthy of the opportunity given me. so where do we stand in the sight of God? I'm afraid i have a long way to go. Lord cleanse me.

God's best is a noble quest indeed, but our best for God is far more noble an endeavor.  Bob you are a treasure in God's box!  I know He cherishes you.  There really is a stirring amongst us. Thank you Lord Jesus!!  Keep pressing in my friend.

No kidding Bob, you and Betty and your family are sweet in Jesus. I know we know ourselves best and it is always good to think about it and strive for better.

I feel as if I am awakened. I am pain in my circumstances as they are and yet right now in the midst of this mess I have a joy that just defies logic.  I feel more alive than I have for years. 

I thank the Lord for this and pray the day that my husband and I can share reading the bible together. You have a blessing there to be recognized. I am enjoying getting to know my sisters and brothers at Moyock Assembly of God better. Peace/Hugs juanita
