Why do you blog? That would be a good open ended question that would make for a great conversation starter.
For me, I am a preacher/teacher that needs more of an outlet than what I have so, blogging is fun for me that I get to express my thoughts and opinions on unsuspecting people who for the most part appreciate what I have to say. I started blogging here on Mychurch back in February and received only 1 star for that blog! It is funny, that some blogs get much attention, and others are over looked. I often wonder if it is because it is too harsh? Or not important? Or irrelevant? Sometimes, I know it is a God thing and God puts someone in front of that blog for just a moment in time and it ministers to them. How do we measure our effectiveness as a blogger? Does anyone know? I have some that leave comments but I think there are way more that don't leave a comment than those that do. I am always curious about the star without the comment. Are you? I would much rather have a comment than a star how about you?
I love to write, to teach, to inspire it is part of who I am and I must say, that I have been touched, motivated and inspired as well by many of the stories, testimonies, and lessons I see on these pages. I am starting to form a lot of new friends and I appreciate them so much. I love being encouraged, but I love encouraging all the more! How about you?
It is also funny to me that when I started on Mychurch it was basically for my local church. Most of them have lost interest in it, and I rarely hear from anyone except my friend JettaBug anymore from my own church. I wonder what that says about me too? LOL oh well, at least my Mom loves me. Come to think of it, she rarely comments on my blogs too, geesh! My wife loves me, but she won't comment either as she thinks that it will only make my head larger than it already is. I think a bigger head would off set the bubble I have in the middle of my body wouldn't you agree?? My dog would comment but he can't read or type, so I guess I will just have to rest in the fact that Jesus loves me! Ultimately, He is the only opinion that really counts anyways! AMEN?
So if you have just started blogging I would say to you, keep at it. Do it for the enjoyment of it. It also serves as a wonderful diary of sorts that plots your spiritual journey and how God speaks to you and what He has done for you. You will make many new friends, and you will be a source of strength and encouragement to them. If you a an old-time blogger and you get 20-30 stars and multiple comments every-time you write, just thank God for the privilege of free speech and for the opportunity that you have to share his love and grace with others. You know we really have no idea of the spiritual and eternal implications of the things we do each day and the profound effect that it has on people. I would encourage you experienced bloggers to pray that God would continue to open doors for you that no man can shut and that He would use you to be a blessing to others. Use that influence you have to lead people in the way that they should go and to glorify Jesus Christ!
Well, thanks to all of my readers and on line friends I pray for you all constantly that God would fill you with peace, hope, and love. I bless you all in Jesus' name!

So you believe in evolution, do you? Just kidding. Actually, a year ago I would have said "me? an experienced blogger? are you kidding???" Now of course I have 1.5 yrs of experience blogging, so I am an oldtimer. :-) Todd, I wrote a blog once, called "The ideal MyChurch blog" which summed up what this blogger thought constituted a good blog. But as often happens, it started a giant argument over what's "ideal" in the blogging world, LOL. There are many reasons some get action and some don't. And guess what? I am no closer to knowing those reasons today than I was when I started! Well, maybe I do know a few. If you're curious, try reading "The ideal..." Just don't try to start an argument with me, ok? :-o You know that 1-star blog you wrote? I think it was me that starred it, lol! |

think I'll just leave a star, LOLOLOL Ok, first question, how many mt. dews have you drank today???? And do you really want us to answer each question, LOL Why do I blog, because I love to write and this is a wonderful outlet for ministering and being ministered too :) Am I effective.....I feel the answer is yes, if one person understands or relates to what I write, LOL As far as stars, when someone leaves a star and no comment, I'm left wondering what that person thought, what was going through their head? |

Someone stared it without leaving a comment too! LOL (I love it)
Mike you are the man that encouraged this guy to keep at it. I'll check out the blog. Now do I look like a kind of guy that would start an argument? I'll finish one, but I don't like starting them!
Cindy Lou: Kind of wierd huh? No mountain dews just trying to take an edge of this stressful job I have. Answer the questions! So you agree with me you wonder why the star and no comment too huh? CIndy, you are effective, you encourage me alot. You know I don't think there are too many blogs you haven't kept up with. Hey Cindy: WAR EAGLE! |

Well brother Todd this is an interesting blog you done started here....Well I wouldn't put myself in the category of an experienced blogger (smile)..but I do share some of my poems on my blogs as the Lord leads me to....My poems are posted to either encourage you or to provoke you to think or change and walk in the ways of God.
Now for all of my friends here on MyChurch who do blog....I purpose in my heart to try to respond to each and every one, if time permits...There are only a few that I don't respond to...and the reason being is because by the time I go to respond...there pops up another new one...Well I figure ain't no need responding to a blog if you are going to change the blog every 15 minutes (smile)....
I have noticed that for a lot of bloggers on MyChurch....and this don't apply to you Brother Todd...They like to write and write, and write, but they don't like to respond to other peoples blogs...or maybe...they just don't respond to mine..LOL...LOL....and I don't even post blogs but maybe every 2 months or so...(smile)..Maybe if I received more comments on *my* blogs, I would post more...Certainly I have 5 books of poetry, and since 1994 when I began writing poetry....surely I have somewhere close to 1,000 poems that I have written....I lost track a long time ago...
But yes, I too am curious as to WHY yall blog on these pages..and then some people get offended when you give them THE TRUTH from the Word of God regarding the topic ;o) Speak up now or forever hold your peace...LOL |

Oh Brother Todd...I appreciate your blogs...always look forward to your posts...very rich in scripture and wisdom...so THANK YOU MR. MIKE for encouraging him...and if I leave a star but no comment, it's usually because I have been left speechless...I'm not a good at leaving comments, but I would like you to know I was there, and I was blessed...so if you get a star from me and no comment...know I was blessed...and blogging is a way of expression...sometimes I just can't hold this stuff in...I WANT TO SHOUT IT!! (disappointing when others don't get it) but it's all good...if it blessed just one...that's enough! Thanks for your blogs Brother Todd...you are encouraging us by posting... |

| Marjay: I hear you! Personally, I think you should add a poem a day. It is a mystery why there are some that only write and not share the love so to speak, but I do know and can attest to the fact that I can count on you to post a comment. I welcome disagreement and hateful comments. It means we are gettting somewhere! I don't get many hateful comments though, although I guess I could get more controversial, but the Scripture teaches that the Servant of the Lord must not quarrel. Most of the time if I suscribe to your blog I am not only going to read it but I am going to comment on it. I had one person that wrote like 5 blogs a day, they were all very good, but Phatdaddy just couldn't keep up so I withdrew my subscription. I try to leave as many stars behind as possible as they are free! I always add a comment, not all are welcomed. I think though in your case you should post more and you will see God widen your sphere of influence through your poetry. |

I once wiped all of my blogs and stars off because I felt guilty about the amount I had recieved,,,but I got over that and realise that I must be blessing ppl if the stars are forthcoming. In all I just wish to please my Father and bless my brothers and sisters....thats why I blog! love Stu. |

| Well Todd as for myself I enjoy your blogs. I started out writing blogs that many would have called harsh but that is what I felt God gave me. I have noticed a major change in the tone of the blogs I write but this was after I almost left mychurch for good. I deleted all of my blogs, after I saved them as word files. I had already scheduled a day for leaving and the Spirit spoke to me and told me not to leave. I didn't feel as if anyone cared and the devil was kinda beating me up. Not any more! he's got hell to pay! |

| Lara: You got that right you don't care! It is so funny when I read your stuff I stop and smile and I say, to myself Whoa! She can get away with that because she is so bubbly and cute! But, you do have a powerful ministry and your blogs are not only insightful but they are inciteful! I told that to Kathy one time too...but anyway, that does make me feel better that you husband doesn't read your blogs. |

| Jay: Thank you, and I enjoy your blogs too! I listened to your lesson on your profile page and I have to tell you we think a lot alike. I appreciate a strong word from the Lord. If it is said in love then I have no problem recieving it! I have noticed though that your readership is picking up! Everyone if you haven't read Jay's stuff you need to it is powerful! Anyway, I am glad you didn't leave because I would have not met you. It is funny too, that a lot of times just like in real ministry God has to weed out those that aren't responsding to Him and us and put new ones in. I see that happening for you. God is giving you a whole new crew to sharpen and inspire. I haven't gotten around to reading your latest blog but I should have time after church tonight. |

Hi! Brother Todd, I have given just stars before. some is because I like what is said, but don't know how to answer, But I want to give encouragement, so I leave a star. Sometimes I have days when I can't read everything, like I told you. But I value just about every blog. I try to comment when I can, and if that day, I can just look and not read then I try to go back again. I am really enjoying Mychurch, and my new friends. |

Marilyn: You are so sweet. I know you are doing all that you can. Sometimes, I can be so insensitive. But, if truth be known, I like the interaction. A star leaves me wondering who what why etc..but the comment let's me know what's going on in your brain. I want to tell you again, in public this time how much I appreciate your comments and input.
MarJay: That's right you have nothing to lose but it is your decision to choose. You have everything to gain when you serve your fellow man in Jesus' name. In fact that is why He even came, to serve and not to receive fame. |

| Great blog! I'm fairly new at it ,too, and I find them very intriguing, uplifting, anointed, and amazing to see God's children communicate, pray for, teach, and encourage one another. I don't always comment myself just like Ms Suga, because I don't always have the words to describe the impact of the blog. This one was fun, relatable, insightful and just plain good. Thank you :-) |

| Brother Todd your not insensitive, I didn't mean it to come out like that, I was sharing why I just give stars sometime. as a example. Maybe people are afraid to, they might sound stupid... But I agree with you, it is much nicer to hear ones thoughts, and I should have realized that. :) all is good. It's all about God glory, and He is awsome to let us all share our thoughts and what know and what God is teaching. No mater what stage we are in with the Lord some how we can always get a new perspecrive, with what someone eles is going through or learning. all I can think of is God is truly awesome. God bless everyone and thank you for all your insights and storys verses and poems, and teachings, Ect. |
