4:18 There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love. 4:19 We love, because he first loved us.

the verse above is one of my favorite verses in the entire bible.

we are always saying that we love someone and most dont even understand
why they think that they love.

it is because God has first loved us, so that we could love.

I see that this is an old post but I just found it tonight and I really want to tell you about what part of that verse means to me---the part where it says that "Perfect Love casts out fear." This is a completely different spin on the scripture passage and is probably taken out of context but it showed me (once again) that God is powerful and so is His Word! He uses the words from the Bible to meet our needs.

When I was 37 years old my mother-in-law died in a car accident. Up to that point I had been afraid to view a dead body (long story) but I had to go to the funeral. This was my husband's mother, and I had a 7-yr-old son who would also need guidance about how to handle this particular type of death.

I was very fearful and had terrible nightmares the night before the service. THEN, in the middle of one of my dreams the words "PERFECT LOVE CASTS OUT FEAR!" flashed in front of my eyes in large letters as if it were on a huge movie screen! I read the words, then I woke up, and from then on was able to go back to sleep peacefully, and got through the next day with a new joy bubbling inside of me. I had no fear whatsoever, and I was able to be a comfort to my family. Isn't God something else? I have never been the same since; I experienced a true life-changing miracle.
