| Happiness: Men vs Women |
|
| |
Women start out as happy young adults but by midlife wind up the sadder sex, says a new study on satisfaction related to financial circumstances and family life, which past research has shown play a significant role in well-being and happiness. A new study suggests that, in the long run, men are happier than women. (ABCNews Photo Illustration) Researchers analyzed decades of national data on 47,000 men and women to create a statistical model that shows women's happiness decreases, while men's increases, exceeding women's by age 48.

This could be true Cindy.
I read a book some time back, and statistically speaking, women outstrip men congregation-wise by almost two-thirds. When people look at the notice boards, it almost always has a woman's name attached to it. Example: For more information contact Cindy Lou. Almost all events going on in church life initially start off with men, but are almost all run by women and the men just seem to tag along. My question is, why?
If I were to hone-in on your blog, women get more "dissatisfied/unhappy" as they get older, yet it is totally the opposite with men. This is only a personal opinion, OK? But given what I've written in the first paragraph, women turn to the church (usually) as a form of a release valve because of the pressure to be "all things" whether it be in the kitchen or the bedroom (and everything in between). I could go deeper into that when it comes to their relationship with Jesus. I may email you on that to gain a fuller insight to what I mean. Men on the other-hand turn to the church as a last resort, and although their relationship is similar, its different. And I know some people will disagree when I say this, but women express their emotions more readily than men - because men are wired to hide their emotions, whereby women (predominantly speaking) are wired and more open to express their emotions. Well that's my two-penneth worth. Hope it didn't offend. |

Lara Nell: LOL
Grammy: ROTFLOL, oh that is gooooooooooooddddd!
Bro Todd: yes, according to the article.....are you?
Missions: Amen!
Stevie: They're saying now that churches are geared to women. As far as the happiness factor, they're saying that women are the happiest during child rearing, then as they age...children leave, menopause, stuff like that. |

I believe that it's probably true...when I hit mid-life, I found a peace and comfort with myself that I had not had before, but my ex-husband felt that it was mid-life, so...."OMG! I'm halfway to dead and have not accomplshed anything yet! I better work 24-7, find a better job, make more money, leave my family and find a younger woman!" Definitely not a happy man. Carol |
