Vacation Bible School has been in full swing this week and the children and adults have been having a great time. There have been about 150 in attendance each day and everyone seems to be excited about this year's theme:Power Lab. The students have been learning each day about the power that is available to them through Jesus Christ. Would you like to see a detailed description of all that was taught the boys and girls? You can follow this link and see videos, experiments and see a summary of each day's lesson. Each one of the balloons represent special prayer requests by the boys and girls. Thank God for the almost 50 workers who made VBS happen. It is great to see God move in this ministry to the boys and girls of our community. 19:14 But Jesus said, Let the little ones come to me, and do not keep them away: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Work is progressing on the new classroom. This is being done by volunteer labor from the man's cave. If you would like to help on this project please contact Steve All. Thanks guys for all your hard work.
This Sunday I will be starting a new sermon series.
In my first sermon I will be looking at the preparation that goes into getting our life ready for change. If you would like to look ahead, just follow this link to see Sunday's sermon outline. This Sunday evening we will also be observing communion at 6 PM. The Lord didn't make communion optional but rather an important part of our spiritual journey. It is a time that we come together with brothers and sisters in Christ and remember the love that Christ had for us in going to the cross. Plan to come and share in this meaningful time of worship with us.
SHOW ME THE MONEY Some people wonder why it takes so much money to keep a church going, just consider some of our recent expenses: - 3,800 for camp scholarships to Grace Bible Camp (38 campers)
- 398 per missionary that we support (19 missionaries)
- 5,000 plus to replace two outside AC units in the McAllister Addition
- Building materials for new classroom
- 1,500 repairs to church van
- need to replace church copier (4,000)
- 800 teen week expense
This is just a sample of the many expenses that your giving enables us to meet as a ministry. I just want to say thank you for your generous giving. Because you gave boys and girls are hearing about Jesus this week. Our missionaries around the world are telling others about Christ. Our teens were challenged at Teen Week. If you want to know where all the money goes just look at the changed lives that result from your obedience to God in faithful giving. 9:7 `Let' each man `do' according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
