| Look, Ma, No Hands! |
|

23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so is he Driving without hands on the steering wheel is not wise and can cause much needless pain and self-destruction. And that's true whether you are "driving" a bicycle, a car, or your life -- you better steer.
Unfortunately, many people neglect to steer their life. They passively allow circumstances, feelings and emotions, and other people to steer them. They are like pool balls -- constantly being knocked around by cues and bouncing off rails. Now that's not the recipe for a happy or successful life.
Instead, we need to take hold of our steering wheel and begin to direct our life. So what is the steering wheel?
1) Steer through your mental intake. Begin to monitor and control what you hear, what you read and watch, and who you associate with. Avoid anything that will steer you in the direction of self-destruction.
2) Steer though your self-talk. You can steer your life by what you think. Get a hold of your mental steering wheel and make yourself think positive and uplifting thoughts. No longer think negative things to yourself or about yourself.
3) Steer though your words. Steer by speaking what you want to happen and being silent about what you don't want. Many people do the opposite -- but be careful because words have creative power. What you talk about you bring about.
4) Steer by what you do. Do the things that produce good results in your life and avoid the behaviors that cause self-destruction. Do the right things whether you feel like doing them or not. Absolutely refuse to let a feeling or compulsion steer you in a harmful direction.
5) Steer by persistence. Repetition is the key. So consistently monitor your intake, your thoughts, your words, and your actions. One slip-up can make you crash. So get a hold and hold on! Then you can steer your life to peace, joy, love and victory.
6) And most importantly, steer by passionately loving and obeying Jesus Christ. If you follow Jesus with your whole heart, you will consistently do these things to steer your life in His direction. |

I recently told my family that I am going to the next level and that means not doing all the little things that get tossed at me just to avoid hurt feelings. I have been invited to a candle party, not unholy but it isn't what I want or need and money can be used to put in missions or church building needs. I have learned to say no to things where I may have said yes to avoid hurt feelings.
I don't feel responsible to do so now. I also realized I spent hours watching Home and Garden Network TV almost in a trance. It isn't unholy either but it was hours. I have decided to pare down the hours and spend time in the WORD or at least Christian books or INSP inspirational tv because I get something from that I can build on.
I have been "playing" on blueletterbible.org and enjoying just looking up a word and seeing what bible references pop up. It is sort of like surfing on the web only it is only bible and then they have multiple translations so you only need to click a letter beside the verse and they will give you all of them for that verse side by side like the old parallel bible I had once.
It is amazing the breakthroughs I have had with just a few small adjustments in my life, not allowing other things/people to control me.
Great thoughts brother, great thuoghts. I have some music that references driving. It's lyrics suggest to look straight ahead, never look back, you can bet your life you're on the right track. You can't drive straight if you are looking in the rear view mirror.
I had been stuck in doing that since my son's suicide and working my way forward. Peace/juanita |

1:1 Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
My Steering Wheel is the WORD OF GOD...and with that, there will be no collisons ;o) |

Yah! The last line clinges it. With Jesus as key and road map - igniting The Way.
13:20 Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, `even' our Lord Jesus, 13:21 make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom `be' the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
