Shame, shame, shame! That's what my daddy always said when we kids (the two of us) weren't behaving like we should. So some people (not me) are not behaving. So who is to hold them accountable? Do they just misbehave until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Or do we as ministers- of the gospel, elders- of the church, pastors-of the people hold them accountable for there fallen ways? If it's Biblical that we are to hold people accountable for misbehaving and not behaving as a Christian or to put it more simply as Jesus would behave-then why aren't we doing something about it. And I don't mean just praying for the person to come to Christ or come back to Christ; I mean physically doing something about it. Like the four men in Mark 2 who went to great lengths to get their paralized friend to Jesus. If we need to drive up to the persons house, drag them out of bed and bring them to church in their PJ's then that's what we have to do. If someone is speaking ill and not being so Christian to you then we need to do what Matthew 18: 15-17 says: "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector." NIV Are we doing this? Are we meeting with those who misbehave or sin against us? Are we taking it to the next step of taking a couple of people with us? Are we calling them out in front of the church when they continusly sin against us and misbehave? Are the ministers and pastors...the head of the church.....bringing the peoples sin to the for front so they know what they are doing and that it is wrong? I say NOT. We need not only to preach about addictions of sex and drugs, but the spreading of gossiup, the tearing down emotionally and mentally of our brothers and sisters, we need to teach that lying gets you only to Hell and NOT with the Heavenly Father to live for ever! We need to let the people know that ripping or making fun of or talking bad about others is NOT cool and that it's a one was ticket to HELL! Yes, I am serious people! One might think oh it's just an innocent comment, or it's the truth, or whatever....but let me tell you it doesn't matter. A sin is a sin. Committ murder or talk bad me both are a sin. Stand before the church and say you are a christian and then go out and do non christian things....guess what? It's a sin! There is one thing I know for sure and that's ......that Jesus Christ will return! The only thing I don't know is if you will be going with him when he takes his people to Paradise! Standing above people and thinking to yourself, Ididn't sin, I didn't wrong a brother or sister, I am the best Christian I know, I am a roll model, I am.....yack, yack, yack...etc.... You can talk to yourself until Jesus Christ comes back and if you haven't asked for forgiveness for what you have done....it won't matter and you'll need to pack a fan cause where you are going it's going to be HOT. Repent! Does that word scare you, it does me. Ask for forgiveness....that's not so scarry. Ask it from your heavenly father, then ask it from those you have sinned against. Dear Jesus, I am a sinner, and I need daily help from You. I need Your strength to help me be a better person. You died for my sins and I can never thank You enough. I ask for Your forgiveness and that You fill me with Your Spirit that I may not sin. I don't want to spend eternity in Hell, I want to spend eternity in Heaven with You. I love You and in Your Name I pray. Amen |
