Is it hard for you to trust God in the face of impossibilities? The essence of true faith is found in Romans 4:19-20…
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
My friend, God had just promised Abraham he would have a son, one who would become the seed of many nations. Knowing that he was well past the age of fathering children, Abraham did not laugh at this promise. Instead, when Abraham received this word from the Lord, he “considered not his own body now dead (nor)… the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” To the natural mind, it was impossible for this promise to be fulfilled. But Abraham didn’t dwell on any such impossibility.
Abraham simply “considered not”. The fact is, when God is at work producing a faith that is tried and better than gold, he first puts a sentence of death on all human resources. He closes the door to all reasoning, bypassing every means of a rational deliverance. The type of faith that will raise you above the competition is born in a place of deadness. This kind of deadness is the deadness of all human possibilities. It is a place where your plans flourish at first but then die. Have you been at this place? Has it seemed you have no options left? Become un-staggering in your faith like Abraham. He was “fully persuaded that, what (God) had promised, he was able also to perform. (Romans 4:21)”
God was able to put him above the competition of younger, more viral men who could conceive sons and that God is able to work with nothing. Indeed, the Lord creates out of a void. (Genesis 1:2-3 “And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be….[and there was light.]) Consider how God created the world.
God creates possibilities out of nothing!
My friend, when all else fails — when your every plan and scheme has been exhausted — that is the time for you to cast everything upon the shoulder of the Lord. It is time for you to give up all confidence in finding deliverance anywhere else. Then once you are ready to believe, you are to see God not as a potter who needs clay, but as a Creator who works from nothing.
Believing for your victory!
