| The End |
|
| |
I ended up not having to put Zagnut to sleep after all. I got in to the vet's office, and Zagnut was doing a lot of crying by that time. He was almost limp, and when I got into the exam room with him, waiting for the vet to come in, he started having a seizure and then went into a coma, at which point the vet came in and I told him it might be too late. He checked his pulse, and he still had a faint one, but within a minute he was gone. So God answered my prayers, that he not have to be put to sleep...even though I would have rather not dragged him in to the vet, it was still an answer to prayer, when I thought perhaps God had forgotten about me.
I am grieving now, crying a lot of tears, and missing my buddy. I take comfort in God's love and I will try to concentrate on that. It comforts me to know that He was listening to my prayers, and He does care enough to answer our prayers. Perhaps he wanted me to be at the vets office, not only so that I would have someone who knew more about how to handle these things, but also so that the veterinary staff could grieve with me. They had all gotten to know Zagnut and cared deeply for him. They felt the loss as well.
Thanks for all of you that have prayed or left a comment for me. It means so much. |

| What you do have are some wonderful memories of your friend. Not how he was near the end of his life but what he always was to you, a dear friend. Those memories will never die. Zagnut will always be your friend and remember the lessons that he taught you. God bless you. |

| Deb, I am so happy that God answered your prayers. This is another testimony to His goodness and faithfulness in our lives and the attention He pays to the details of our lives. There is never a request to God that He does not hear, I am sure of it! I am praying for you, dear Sister, for your comfort and peace. I am grieving with you as well. I love you, Deb! |

| I want to thank you all for your kind comments. This has been hard for me, but I am struggling through it. My other cats are a great comfort to me, and will help with my grieving. I guess the hardest part is that I grieve for this cat as I would for a person, and a lot of people don't understand that. I don't feel like I can grieve as openly as I would if I lost a loved one who is a person. Those that understand know what I mean. Anyway, thank you all for all the things you have said here. It helps to know you are praying for me and understand. |
