This does not mean that, (You shall love your neighbor as youself) replaces the law. It means that it sums it up! Or doing the law, equals loving your neighbor as yourself.Get it? Let's take a look at Matthew 22:34-40 But when the Phar'i-sees had heard that He (Jesus) had put the Sad'du-cees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, (or expert on God's Law) asked Him (Jesus) a Question, testing Him, and saying, Master, which is the great comandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like the first, you shal love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. This plainly means that these two commandments sum up whats written in all the law and the prophets. not that the two did away with the law or the prophets! God's law is the gideline or pathway of our life, if we love the Lord our God with all our heart, life and mind. John 14:14 If you love Me keep My Commandments. (Jesus) So let us obey all of God's commandments so we can fulfill the two great commandments.

5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, [even] in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
