11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. Psalms 9:17 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The foundations are being destroyed, because the foundations are not the rock (Christ Jesus) which the Church must be founded on. David ask a very important question as to what can the righteous do, if the foundation were destroyed. The point was also made that the wicked would be turned into hell, remember that if my people which are called by my name will turn from their wicked ways, is there two different types of wicked ways. (One for the suppose to be righteous and one for the out right wicked ?) What kind of foundation is being built upon when people forget God? Moses warned the children of Israel not to forget the Lord thy God after coming out of bondage. What kind of foundation will with stand the very gates of Hell? The Bible's plain on what is acceptable such as your reasonable service and what's not acceptable forgetting the Lord thy God. How do people forget God by forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as ye see the day approaching. People forget about God by not hiding thy word in my heart that I might not sin against thee, O Lord.People forget about God by not praying without ceasing, Jesus said it best that men ought to pray and not faint. Prayer is the way we talk to God, How can one stand on a firm foundation that's not built on prayer? What can the righteous do? It's time to return to our first love and repent and do again our first works. It's time to get back to living right and studying to show ourselves approved working men and women that need not to be ashamed. Having the right foundations requires having the right life style, being rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus. What's destroying a lot of people's foundations is it sin in the camp. People want to have it both ways, a little of the church and a little of the world. Jesus said, You can't serve two masters, friendship with the world makes one the enemy of God. Straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life eternal. There's no broad roads leading to heaven. |
