I. (Psy Ops)...Psychological warfare.
Doubt: If the devil can get you not to believe and trust God he just changed the playing field to his advantage.
Deception: He is a deceiver, and a liar. He wants to harass your mind. He wants to play tricks on your mind. He knows we go by what we see for most perception is reality. That is why living by faith is important...faith is the evidence of things not seen.
Discouragement: He loves to make us think we are miserable failures. He wants us to believe that our efforts are wasted and unappreciated by God and ineffective.
Doctrines: He wants us to believe lies about God. False doctrine is a great tool against believers, because it causes us to divide over what we don’t share in common.
II. Satan Uses Physical Warfare
Destruction: The thief wants to kill, rob, and destroy. He ultimately wants to destroy our faith, but to do that he starts with destroying our families, our relationships, our marriages, careers, our finances, our health. Satan is all about destruction.
Disease: Sickness was part of the curse! He attacked Job to the point of death, he buffeted Paul with the thorn in his flesh. Satan knows that if he can hinder us physically, we become more concerned about ourselves than God, and if we are weak and frail, we will not be able to do the work of God.
Discord: Satan loves to sow discord among the brethren. If we fight against one another then we don’t have time or the energy to fight him. "For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." (James 3:16)
Death: Ultimately Satan would like to see us dead. If we are dead we can not live to bother him. Just remember that it is appointed unto man once to die. Until we have finished our purpose for what we are created for we are indestructible. And praise be to God who gives us the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ. Death has no power over us, o death where is your victory? Oh grave where is your sting?
Think about it: What is the worst thing that can happen? Usually, death by some cruel and unusual way, however that God will give us grace and strength to endure it for if we suffer with Him we will reign with Him. They can kill the body, but they cannot kill the Spirit. I have seen with my own eyes how a "spirit of death" can overtake someone. There thoughts are consumed with self-pity, disillusionment, and suicide. Give no place to it, for it will consume you and stop at nothing until it has you.
Knowing now how Satan Operates We can Use Our weapons against God-given spiritual weapons against him.
