| Stepping Out Of Your Comfort Zone |
|
| |

This past weekend we went to Richmond, VA to visit Tommy's brother. While we were there, we took the kids to Kings Dominion. They had a blast! We had been trying to convince the girls to step out of their comfort zones and get on a few rides that they may have been afraid to get on in the past. Well we finally talked them into facing their fears! And as freaked out as they were, the first thing they wanted to do when the ride was over, was ride again.
This brought to mind all of the times that the Lord laid something on my heart that was out of my comfort zone. Sometimes we are cool as a cucumber, like my brother-in-law pictured above. Sometimes we just get plane excited, like the picture of me. Sometimes we can get like Anita (in the upper left hand corner) and hold on for dear life and pray that we live to tell the story :) And sometimes we just totally freak out, like Jamie in the upper right hand corner, that our hair is actually standing up in the air!
Whatever the case may be, I would encourage you to step out of your comfort zone to do whatever it is that God has called you to do. Let's not forget all of the knuckleheads that God used in the Bible to accomplish His will. He does use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Let Him use you!

| Great picture, Sue! You are so right! It's often the very things that make us uncomfortable that bring the greatest reward when we decide to face them and dive on in--great way to illustrate the point! |

| Concentrating on your message Sue, we all need to step out of our comfort zone, because sometimes I feel we are too comfortable for our own good. Sometmes when stepping out - its going to be a white knuckle ride to being totally the opposite - and feeling as cool as a cucumber. When stepping out of our comfort zone - and I stress for the good, especially when we see the results, it makes you want to do it again. Great blog Sue. And if people read between the lines of what you've written and think to themselves, why didn't I do it before? is it because we were too plane scared to do it in the first place? Think of it another way. Think of the reward when you overcome your fear. |

That's usually where we find Jesus. He's ON the water and we wanna stay in the boat.
Good to hear from ya again Sue. |

| Living for Jesus can be quite a ride, indeed! Great analogy, Sue. Love the picture - definitely worth 1,000 words. :-) |

| The times that I have stepped out of my comfort zone, have been rewarding for me. Even though I was scared to death, I am glad I did it, and I look for other opportunities to do it again. |

Great analogy, Sue! I never want to step out of my comfort zone, but whenever God leads me out, I am never sorry! Carol |

Nice message Sue. God has kinda had me out of my comfort zone for quite a few months now. It is almost exciting just to get through another day. HA

| Hey y'all..I gotta question. Do you reckon God would prefer that we live beyond our comfort zone? Isn't that what Jesus and his disciples did? |

I'm working on just that. Actually, getting out of my front door is more like it. One day at a time, one step at a time.
It's getting to be an adventure. Now, I get the mail every day. |

Great picture there and even better lesson. Kind of like you have to step out of the boat to walk on the water! It's all about trusting God to keep us safe and resting in His comfort zone! peace |

When I can't sleep, I come to MyChurch and read blogs from the past. Tonight I picked your site. It's some amazing stuff here. I'm glad I'm off tomorrow cause I'm gonna be up all night :)
I have been trying to do that for years. It wasn't until I was put on this new "Journey" that I began to step out of the box,,,My comfort Zone. I must admit...IT FEELS GOOD.! |
