The amazing preaching of the 1st century saints was so effective, that one wonders how much more effective they would have been had they had the technology of the 21st century.
With all our knowledge, technology, inventions, media access & internet, we are nowhere nearly as effective as they were. Ever wonder why?
Maybe it was that they spent time with the Lord Himself and had a relationship with Him. I don't think that Jesus entertained them but rather taught them. I am so surprised that today the Church entertains more than teaching & preaching the Word of God.
I heard a well known pastor of a huge church make a statement that he gets so much prayer request, via email, that he does not get time to go pray & minister to his congregation. What an alarming statement! Has Christ given himself for the interenet or for the Church? Has internet ministry replaced the caring, ministering, perfecting of the saints? What happened to "Go ye therefore & teach all nations..." Has this become an internet gospel?
May God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, help us get back to what He has called the Church for & to..
Maybe we should go back to 1st century style. First to KNOW HIM!
To preach Christ, that the world may know Him!
Maybe if we know Christ more, we, the Church will be more effective in harvesting souls.
