Psalm 92:9-15
For surely your enemies, O LORD, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured upon me. My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, 'The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.'
Would you still like to "bear fruit" in your old age? Many "in" their old age are discouraged by pain; hardship, and have given up the thought of being vital or being used of God.
They go from canes, to walkers, to wheel chairs and soon are not functioning. You wake up in pain and stiffness but your mind tells you the body has to move.
You don't see your name in the obituaries so you continue to move through your day thinking God can not use you. Not true. I prayed with a man the night before last, and in the morning, his son found him dead.
The interesting thing that resulted is this. Now they are teasing me saying; "Don't have Jackie pray for you, it don't work."
I have always determined, in my old age filled with pain, to push myself by reading the promise of God to the aged; "as thy days, so shall thy strength be."
Push on past the pain, for Heavenly gain.
