| What Is A Good Man? |

11:24 For he (Barnabas) was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. What is a good man? To hear some ladies talk who have been burned by men, would say that there is no such thing and that a "good man" is an oxymoron like "Jumbo Shrimp." It is true that men in our society today, are not what they used to be and both genders have undergone many changes that were traditionally assigned to them. But, I would like to say that there are still good men out there even if it harder to find them now a days. I came across some good quotes about "good men" that I would like to share with you, and then I will leave some parting thoughts.

1. He loves God & Is submissive to God.
2. A good man is responsible.
3. A good man loves His family, Wife,Children, Parents, & extended family.
4. A good man is honest.
5. A good man keeps his word and his comittments.
6. A good man is loyal.
7. a good man works hard.
8. a good man is gentle.
9. a good man is kind.
10. A good man is sensitive.
11. Lives by the Holy Spirit (Mike's)
12. Knows how to Sacrifice (Cindy LOU WHOO RELLY)

14. A good man is a strong man (emotionally, spiritually) (PattiA)_

| Lara: I appreciate those comments! Yes, you are right number one will solve all the others, but Lordship doesn't always happen so easily (as you and I know so well). Everyone deserves to be judged on their own merrits. I am never comfortable around the "male bashers." |

It's like anything else, we all have the potential for greatness and goodness, but are we willing to allow the Lord to change us and put in the necessary effort to allow those changes to happen. I think a good man needs to have a soft heart. My husband is not yet saved, but he is very kind hearted and it is because of this that I know he will be very soon.
God really put it on my heart earlier this week, that their are so many Godly women out their waiting for good men. I would just like to encourage, God loves you, he wants only the best for you, beleive. God has it covered.
Margie, I know that God has a good man for you, it will come. Just remember that sometimes things are on Gods time not ours. I know this can be hard, but if patient, it will be such a blessing to you!

Hey brother,
This area is painful to me, even as I read this I am tearing up...my prayer is to find a man like that, I pray they all are not gone. I know God has me covered under His wing and has a plan for me...I am okay with being single, but my hearts desire is to be married. Thanks for the tips brother, I already had some of these traits on my prayer list and will add the ones I did not have.

Cheryl: I knew that when I wrote this, it would be hard for some. Many would have a hard time with it. Many of us have been burned more than once and it seems like all are like that. Satan would have you believe that. It is hard to be open and attract someone that will love you for you, when you are so jaded and put up walls to protect yourself. It is human nature and we all do. We need the Lord for healing and the best thing I have learned is that when we become the right person we'll attract the right person. I don't have all the answers, but just commit it to the Lord and just go about your life and love will come to you. At least that is what happened to me.
Patti: Praise God for your good man. It is nice to have a strong man, not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. I am going to add that to the list.
Marilyn: That is a great point! No one is perfect, so we need to get that out of our heads. There is not perfect man or woman. We all have bad breath, body odor, and such we try to cover it up, but eventually our faults will come out. Best thing we can do and it doesn't stop once we get marrried is to keep improving ourselves - growing like you said. If we can become more like Christ, who wouldn't want to fall in love with that kind of person? |

| Brother Todd you and Momma Bear have given me hope.....I also look at my parents who will be married for 55 years on the 26th of August and that encourages me to know that there are some men out there who will be committed in their relationships, and love God...Thank God for you and your wife....You all seem to be a match made in Heaven (smile) |
